We evolved from people who lived with nature (and in spite of it).

I am probably one of few modern men who knows what the phase of the moon is, or what the constellations are and where the planets are, or when sunrise and sunset will be.

I am not an astronomer. I walk early in the morning. I have a program on the computer https://stellarium-web.org/ that shows what the sky looks like. I can set it for any time and date I want. I know what my morning sky will look like.

The stars, the universe (the creation if you wish) talk to me.

If I am up early around my birthday (next month) I will see Jupiter, Saturn and Mars within less than thumbs-width of each other just before sunrise. I will be at the beach with a clear view of the horizon.

    I heard a bird sing

    In the dark of December.

    A magical thing

    And sweet to remember.

    ‘We are nearer to Spring

    Than we were in September,’

    I heard a bird sing

    In the dark of December.

I ‘see’ the birds are all tweeting; I wonder how the Hallelujah Chorus sounds on Twitter…
