Everything Trump does is what benefits Russia and Vladimir Putin, and now intelligence experts in the Trump administration are being fired for following the law that requires them to share intelligence information with congress.

Every time Trump commits some kind of bizarre, unexplainable act of sabotage against U.S. interests, many “experts” scratch their heads, but there is always a simple explanation:

    It benefits Putin.

    • Undermining military discipline and getting the top Navy officer ousted over a war criminal (of whom every single member of his platoon testified against, under oath) destabilizes our military system of justice which benefits … Putin.

    • Withholding aid from Ukraine weakens them as Russia is trying to invade them, makes Russia’s task easier, which benefits … Putin.

    • Trying to blame Ukraine for an electoral attack (breaking into the DNC; literally a digital version of Watergate, outsourced to Russians, takes the blame off Putin and puts it squarely on the enemy Putin is at war with (a war of Russia’s invasion), which benefits … Putin.

    • Abandoning the Kurds, who did our fighting for us in Iraq to oust ISIS from all its occupied territory (and even provided the intel that allow the killing of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi), allowing Putin’s ally (Turkey) to wage genocide against the Kurds, and abandoning our bases there so Russia could have them, which benefits … Putin.

    • Imposing economic sanctions on trading partners — the tariffs — hurt American farmers, closed off foreign markets from American producers, which Russia can then rush in and supply. This impedes U.S. markets and expands Russian markets, which benefits … Putin.

    • Attacking U.S. allies, undermining U.S. trading partners, undermining U.S. strategic alliances (such as NATO), weaken the unified international resistance to Russian aggression, which benefits … Putin.

There’s nothing Putin loves more than redneck pride. If dolt 45’s supporters could admit their mistake, he’d lose all leverage over the USA, but he can rest assured that it will never happen. Боже, благослови Россию!

I’m less worried about Putin right now than I am the DNC. All but one candidate on the debate stage the other night disagrees that the candidate with the most pledged delegates should receive the nomination. So if the candidate in the lead is 1 delegate short of the pledged delegates required to win the nomination in the first vote, someone else could win via the extremely undemocratic super delegates.

Trump is a wanna-be international Oligarch, and curries favor to that exclusive club in his policies as US president. It will be interesting to see if, after his term(s) of office, that club lets him and his family openly join — or if he is discarded as a then useless tool. A little fish gobbled by the bigger ones. The promise of a Moscow Trump Tower has thus far served as bait.

Here it comes. Trump is going to use the threat of Russian intervention as an excuse to ‘postpone’ the November elections until, as he put it about another issue, we figure out what the hell is going on. His minions in the House and Senate will certainly go along with this. People say to get out and vote to remove Trump in November. I’m starting to have doubts that we will even have the opportunity.

If Russia is truly poking around in our election procedures for 2020 and in doing so for support of #45 shouldn’t that show #45 supporters that something is rotten in DC?If it doesn’t, his supporters are dumber than a box of rocks.

I hear the president is less than pleased that Congress was briefed on the ongoing Russian interference in the 2020 elections. Well, of course he is! That’s the new “Don’t Ask. Don’t Tell” of the 21st Century. We know about it, we just don’t talk about it. (As long as it’s helping our side, that is.) /s

Russian government quits as Putin plans to stay in power past 2024Andrew Roth in MoscowWed 15 Jan 2020 13.41 ESTFirst published on Wed 15 Jan Vladimir Putin has embarked on a sweeping reshuffle of Russia’s leadership, accepting the resignation of Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev and proposing constitutional amendments that would enable him to hold onto power even after leaving the presidency in 2024.In a surprise move, Russia’s government said it would resign in full just hours after Putin announced plans for a national referendum that would shift power away from a successor to the presidency.Putin’s shakeup sent shock waves through Russia’s political elites, who were left pondering what his intentions were and speculating about future cabinet appointments. The president is laying the groundwork as he prepares for a transition in 2024 that analysts say will likely see him abandon the presidency but remain Russia’s dominant politician in a beefed-up role as Russia’s prime minister or in the government’s State Council instead. The 67-year-old has in effect ruled Russia since 2000, making him the longest-serving leader since Stalin, and what he plans to do in 2024 remains the most important political question in the country. In a televised speech before senior officials, Putin suggested amending Russia’s constitution to limit a future president to two terms in office – he has served four – tightening residency requirements for presidential candidates, and letting parliament choose candidates for prime minister and the cabinet, in effect weakening the presidency.

Guess who would be in charge of appointing the parliament members who would choose the prime minister and cabinet.

By Peter Baker•Jan. 15, 2019•oWASHINGTON — The first time they met was in Germany. President Trump took his interpreter’s notes afterward and ordered him not to disclose what he heard to anyone. Later that night, at a dinner, Mr. Trump pulled up a seat next to President Vladimir V. Putin to talk without any American witnesses at all.Their third encounter was in Vietnam when Mr. Trump seemed to take Mr. Putin’s word that he had not interfered in American elections. A formal summit meeting followed in Helsinki, Finland, where the two leaders kicked out everyone but the interpreters. Most recently, they chatted in Buenos Aires after Mr. Trump said they would not meet because of Russian aggression.Mr. Trump has adamantly insisted there was “no collusion” with Russia during his 2016 presidential campaign. But each of the five times he has met with Mr. Putin since taking office, he has fueled suspicions about their relationship. The unusually secretive way he has handled these meetings has left many in his own administration guessing what happened and piqued the interest of investigators.“What’s disconcerting is the desire to hide information from your own team,” said Andrew S. Weiss, who was a Russia adviser to President Bill Clinton. “The fact that Trump didn’t want the State Department or members of the White House team to know what he was talking with Putin about suggests it was not about advancing our country’s national interest but something more problematic.”

Oh, please. Does Putin own the companies that make black box voting machines? Does Putin pass laws that mandate the use of those machines? Does Putin block every effort to institute paper ballots everywhere, counted by hand in public? Does Putin throw people off the rolls? Does Putin make gerrymandered districts? Does Putin continually squash efforts to use ranked choice voting? Does Putin grant private corporations (political parties) control over elections? No, that’s all homegrown, done by Republicans – and, albeit to a lesser degree, Democrats.

NEW YORK — Russia is interfering with the 2020 election and is trying to get President Donald Trump re-elected, intelligence officials warned House lawmakers last week, the New York Times reported Thursday.

The classified briefing angered the president, who fears Democrats will exploit the information and “weaponize” the disclosure.

Trump “berated” outgoing acting director of national intelligence Joseph Maguire on Feb. 14, the day after the briefing, for permitting the briefing to take place in the first place, according to the report

Trump, according to the report, was particularly annoyed that Rep. Adam Schiff — one of the president’s most outspoken foes — was present at the hearing.

During the hearing, Trump’s allies challenged the findings, arguing Trump has been critical of Russia.

The intelligence officials who held the hearing, Shelby Pierson, is Maguire’s aide. According to the Times, Pierson “has a reputation of delivering intelligence in somewhat blunt terms.”

Fast forward to Wednesday when Trump announced he was replacing Maguire with Richard Grenell, the U.S. ambassador to Germany.

Although the timing of Maguire being replaced raised eyebrows, the Times reports that two administration officials said the timing was coincidental.

I was watching a documentary on George Washington recently, and it told about the story with Benedict Arnold. I had heard some of this when I was young but never followed up on it, it appears Arnold’s main goal was money power and prestige. When the Congress and Washington did not give him what he wanted he turned the British. It appears Trump has done the same hole he turned the Russians.

To hear the news that the acting DNI chief was forced to resign as retaliation for doing his job of reporting intelligence threats to the House Intel committee. Specifically the intel that Russian intelligence is again conducting info operations (propaganda) to influence our election in 2020. Moscow Mitch is reveling in Trump’s continued undermining our election security.

Screaming baby Trump and the Russian loving Republicans are out raged that our intelligence agency told the truth about Russian hacking in our elections so that person was fired and a toad with no experience is now running our Intelligence Community.

It just makes you sick the way Republicans are allowing this corrupt dictator to take over our government. They need to be stopped.

That is exactly what true German people said about Hitler. We all saw what good their insight was. Brace yourself, we are in the same situation and the results are going to be the same as well.

tRUMP apologis Andylit mentions Russia helping Sanders. Of course he is. Sanders is the obvious candidate who will lose. Repugnicans will drag out the “Socialism” bit, scaring a lot of middle of the road Dems. Sanders, unlike out “Fearless Leader” and Putin butt boy, has castigated any Russian interference, and will do all he can to negate it. I’m not a “Feel the Bern” guy, but he should be commended for this position.
