I read that there’s no absolute knowledge that the ‘up’ thumb was positive and the ‘down’ thumb was negative.
Maybe they just don’t have the self-centered thing down yet. (This guy!)
In their quiescent state, thumbs are merely opposable. To turn them into real opposers, you have to point them downward.
They’re ready to run for political office.

The thumb from the emperor in any position meant death. In much of the world, this gesture is considered an obscene suggestion.
They’re positive because they’ve yet to discover that thumbs can be turned downward. Just thumbthing to think about.
