If Biden, Sanders and Bloomberg had really had the best interests of the US in mind, I don’t think any of them would be running. They would be acting as senior statesmen (which they all certainly are) and supporting on of the younger candidates. Just my personal opinion…

Bernie isn’t a serious candidate anywhere…. Not even is his own neighborhood.

I’m not so sure at this point that any one of the democrats can energize enough voters in key states to beat Trump and his cult in the electoral college come November. Winning the popular vote means very little. Trump has his MAGA’s in lock step with whatever he says or does. The non-MAGA’s that decided to vote for Trump last election may very well decide the outcome again. I fear that this utter madness won’t ever end.

Sadly, not funny but true. I do not think Bernie (much as I like him) can beat Trump. Trump is an existential threat to America, and if re-elected will become president for life. How I wish this was not the case.

I don’t know…. Both Robert Reich and Michael Moore think he can win. Moore seemed to read/predict the last election correctly, and Reich also seems to have a firm understanding of what’s going on in the country — that the movement has momentum and the time is ripe. I think a lot of their reasoning is that Bernie will actually inspire a lot of the previous non-voters and former Obama voters who want to shake up the system to actually vote. Electoral college-wise, we may still lose, so it’s important to also donate to orgs like Senate Majority PAC so we can at least take back the senate and get some actual checks and balances on

I like Bernie and I will vote for him if he is the Nominee. But this is what I am afraid of.

Strange that SC isn’t having a Republican primary, given that there are actually Republican challengers to the president.

And that’s why in the latest national poll Bernie is barely behind Bloomberg, who hasn’t been in a debate or any negative press until today written about him, in the margin of victory over Trump. Yes, only 2 people got over 50% vs Trump, and he’s one of the 2. Because people like Clay are right. Yeesh. Are Bernie Bros toxic and detestable? Absolutely. Are they even 10% of his supporters? Nope. That’s the problem with online. It’s full of trolls who have an over-sized presence. And some of them likely are only doing it because they think it’s cool. I mean why not. You get massive headlines written about you in the USA Today that get picked up by everyone else, and in this case, a great political cartoonist to spread your garbage.

Age does bother me on these candidates, even though I like Bernie and Joe. Bernie’s already 78, Joe is 77, “mature” for sure. Bonespurs is chronologically 73, but intellectually working on 13 and going down. Our proven vindictive child needs to go.

Democrats can pick Bernie or Joe and have a younger Vice candidate, might work, and be an insurance policy.

Although, I asked a friend in Secret Service back a few years, if their job if anything happened to Bush, was to take out Dan Quayle. He was a personal friend of Dan’s but sorta’ shrugged, as in “well we are supposed to protect the nation as well.”

Rachel Bitecofer makes a persuasive case that anybody who can walk can beat the current White House Excrescence. David Brin points out that all the Democrat candidates agree on what are the most important issues, and approximately in agreement about what to do. And that for the most part, it’s not the President who gets to write laws. Despite the crap that we’re putting up with (if we are) from this one. So…

VOTE BLUE NO MATTER WHO !!

He’s wrong. Many Trump supporters love and trust Bernie more and would vote for him in the general election. The only reason Trump won in 2016 was Bernie wasn’t his opposition. Don’t believe what the GOP and Wall Street want you to believe that only a moderate Dem can win.

It is not funny, it is realistic…in a different time and world I would vote for Bernie BUT the GOP and the alt right will paint and demonize him as a tax and spend progressive liberal socialist which is essentially what he truly is…that will scare the GOP and money gruubbers to vote again for Donnie and the Dems will be toast….Bloomberg can win… sorry Pete, being gay has done you in….too many do not want that….just honest. Biden…take a blanking nap.

Clay, I think you’re wrong on this one. Sanders is the most popular politician in Congress. His ideas have moved the entire Democratic party to the left and his policies are widely popular. I read an article early in the campaign where Wall St approved of Biden, Buttigieg, and Harris and was wildly against Sanders and Warren. He has only the best enemies. I am worried about the insane misinformation that will be thrown at him, but they’ll do the same to any democrat. Barring inevitable election fraud a ham sandwich could beat our petty tyrant in the white house.
