What matters to some people, including Rita and … he who shall not be named… isn’t whether those things are the same, but whether they’re of equal value.
So while most of us place a higher premium on being honored, say, than obeyed…
to some people having control over people is more important than gaining their love, or respect…
a better goal to pursue than wisdom, or knowledge, or morality in any form…
All which are seen as useless commodities, unless they can increase the bottom line.
They don’t fret over the lack of qualities or rewards that normal people cherish, as long as they wield power and gain whatever physical comfort and possessions they desire.
The hard part is that they truly don’t care if we hate them, or consider them misfits or psychopaths.
In fact, some of them don’t even understand the question…. they think we’re “soft”…
or simply crazy… to even consider the comparison.
I’m not saying that Rita is all the way down that path… I’m thinking of someone else.
