I don’t get it. Why didn’t Ros slam the door and watch from the window? She could sit there eating a bowl of ice cream for extra punishment. Calvin would see the irony of his situation in about 3 seconds.

Let the kid roam around outside, and see how he likes the cold, dark night!!

You could’ve rescued one and gotten it for free, just like the kid!

Notice how parents like to spend their free time complaining about how their kids deprive them of their free time?

She’s right, Dad. You two don’t get hardly any relax time anymore! Enjoy the little bit you have!

You mean… the dog crate I recommended a while back?

You bought him on a Blue Light Special at Kmart. Maybe you can still return him for a store credit or something.

If Dad wanted a dog…, there were certain steps he could have taken… I’m just saying.

Look at the way Stupendous Man is drawn flying in the first panel; that is obviously in Calvin’s imagination, as in real life he obviously just ran out the door.
