This is what led me to come up with a backstory for why Millie turned out to be such a nonconformist. When she first met Felicia, she actually wanted to fit in. She might have even worn some trendy clothes and tried to talk cool. But Felecia just instantly rejected Millie from the in crowd without even looking at her. And it made no sense to Millie. She was just left wondering what she did wrong. She couldn’t find anything that made her different from the girls that Felecia accepted. So she thought “Even when I try my best, I lose before the game even starts. Why bother playing?”
