I’m just impressed Monty didn’t accidentally burn his house down with that candle…

Well, it probably has fewer side effects than medication, which is the other thing some humans do to regulate their moods.

Kudos to the artist for drawing each the last 3 cells individually.

Monty seems to be well in tune with life, which is in equal parts boring and uncomfortable.

He is having a better time than today’s “Speed Bump” (gocomics.com/speedbump).

Apparently it takes more than three cartoon panels to settle into a meditative state.

At my age I find impossible to contort my body into positions required for meditation and yoga so now my meditations look a lot like a nap on the couch.

My experience with meditation is similar to Monty’s – and then I fell asleep. But plenty of friends & acquaintances claim great benefits from their long-term meditation practice, so I don’t discount it.

In the original Indian Yoga, the first lessons were simply to find a way to sit comfortably for hours in order to meditate. There were none of the contortions now common in Western Yoga.

Alas, our Monty mistakes the external trappings of meditation for the Inner Road. He shall not attain Inner Peace that way!

True Yoga is part of the Hindu religion. The word yoga means the way and refers to the way to nirvana. There are four primary ways: the way through position, the way through mediation, the way through work, and the way through prayer.
