First trial, I’ve ever heard, that allowed no witnesses and no evidence to be introduced. Strange that the Republican Senators and the defendant colluded to organize this sham “trial” of a person who had nothing to hide and was transparent in all his activities to prove it. It was a political trial, even though they were trying a criminal, there are different rules. It doesn’t mean everything is corrupted, just the Republicans and they can be voted out of power.

You do all remember this whole thing is about DJT and his Cult of Conspirators, possibly STEALING the 2016 election – and attempting to do it AGAIN in 2020 ? How about his psychological projection that, if Hillary won in 2016, it would have been because the election was RIGGED ? Will he, now, should he lose, being the President, based on the “Public Benefit”, or a National Emergency, or vote irregularities, delay, cancel or negate the 2020 Election ? If the president does it, it’s OK – NOT ILLEGAL ! Has he done ANYTHING to indicate he’d do otherwise in the past 3+ years ? …and won’t HIS Senate and SCOTUS back him up, ‘til the new Senate and House (hopefully, somehow a Dem-majorities) are seated in 2021 ? Sorry for the pessimism, but, in 73 years, I’ve NEVER seen anything like this situation in the US.
