Where do your cats sleep? My boys sleep on my pillows next to my head…and sometimes on my head. A pillow each for everyone! When it’s warmer, Diesel sleeps on the top shelf of the small ladder-type bookcase next to my bed, and Raven on the shelf just underneath.

I spy two mice in a moccasin!

Natasha and Violet found a cozy slipper to sleep in.

Sleeping with hats on is a smart way to keep warm! Would love to see the cats in hats, if they didn’t turn it into a fight to the death first! ;)

This reminds me of a book I used to read to my kids, “Father foxes penny rhymes

Possibly all four mice, but 2 for sure.

I don’t think the Man needs a hat … It looks like Goldie wrapped herself around his head, and is keeping his ears warm?

I hope the claws don’t knead the hot water bottles!

Goldie is making sure the man’s head stays warm—no hat needed! I cat I had long ago used to wrap herself around my head to sleep or want to sleep on my throat! Mice bedded down a a warm slipper!

Do I see burger mice in the slipper

Now that I noticed the bedside tables and slippers, I realized we’re looking straight down at the head of the bed. So Goldie’s position makes more sense now (vs. when I thought we were looking along the whole bed up towards the pillows).

And two robber mice in a slipper!

Pengo is very warm, too.

Puck does not seem to be in with the crowd – is he warming his buns on that last hot water bottle?

OMC… this is the sweetest!

Right now, I’m lying in bed with my kitty lying across my knees. Last night, she was on my chest. I guess her position depends on how comfortable and warm she wants to be, but on a really cold night, we can be each other’s hot water bottle.

Just when you thought it could not get cuter! Ding ding ding! The cute meter, is on melt down status!

And, again, when I’m in bed, my cat’s preferred spot is on top of me, right over my bladder.

Love how the adorable robber ladies always make themselves right at home and are part of the family despite their sometimes despicable acts. Despicable? Or girls just wanting to have fun? Anyway, I’d buy a book celebrating their clever escapades.

OT: Could anyone else use an extra boost of optimism today?

A good hot water bottle is a friend for life.

When we go to bed, our black cat Lucky (my baby boy) starts off laying on my chest, then slides down into the crook of my arm, with my shoulder as his pillow under the covers. When he gets too warm, he climbs out and then resettles first between our heads on the pillows, and finally down by my legs (I make a lap for him). Missy comes up later and settles on Terri’s legs. Sometimes Lucky will get up, run downstairs to get his favorite mousy toy (his version of Buzzy Mouse without the buzz) and bring it back upstairs and go back to sleep in his spot on the bed.

In the last panel, there’s so many faces it’s hard to tell the human children from the pet children. What a lovely scene!

A cat is less likely to leak than a water bottle!

Wait – I’m the giant hot water bottle, am I not? I get grumbles and complaints from my 16 pound “blue point cougar” when I shift position in bed.

I think our other cat would like to sleep on top of me, but there’s little room left over after all 35" of him is sprawled out on my legs.

Oh, I love that second panel – it took me a moment to realize it’s an overhead shot of the bed and surrounding areas … I adore the little “bed” that Alice and Natasha have found for themselves – they’re sure to sleep warm and snug too, just like the four People, four cats, and three stuffies (Buzzy Mouse, Pengo, and the little fox, who’s name I can’t recall). Good thing that’s a BIG bed.

If the power’s out, I’m wondering how they filled hot water bottles.

Reminds me of a New Yorker cartoon I saw some years ago. Middle-aged couple in bed, eight cats on the bed. Wife has the punch line: “Howard, I’m still cold. Pile on two more cats.”

Goldie looks SO happy and content. I think she knows she’s home.

Humans are heated massage furniture.

Sounds like a three dog night. :-^)

I only had one cat I could trust to sleep under the covers.

Why? Because it’s Kite Flying Day! In February?!? Well maybe for you antipodean types …

Seriously some of my best kite flying was done in February. But I always thought April was the traditional month for that.

I have been away for a while, life gets in the way sometimes, I see a lot of new people, Georgia’s strip just keeps on giving!!!

Poor Puck. Look atv the seperation between him and everyone else. He’s only got trusty Buzzy to keep him warm.

I love that her slippers have cat toys in them. Mine always do when I go to put them on.

I think this entire sequence has been exceptional, and this is a great end to a great strip.

Can I just say that I think it’s great that we have all had stories to share about cold nights with cats and their various behaviors and favourite sleeping places? It’ll be cold again tonight in most places and I’m sure you’ll all have great stories to share tomorrow. BTW, Fred, the tux, is already on my lap as I type this at 1800 Pacific Time. Have a cozy night.

We ran out of oil and can’t get the company to fill us back up and jump start our furnace. Second night with little space heaters working overtime.

Our Waffle is frequently referred to as the “Hot Waffle Bottle.”

I live in the PNW, where liquid snow falls regularly in Winter… Could almost mistake the scenery outside for late Spring if you ignored what the calendar says…
