I’m completely unable to understand why they ignored the blatant violation of the emoluments clause.

Isn’t it quaint that Mr.Rall thinks the GOP could’ve being bipartisan?

Two counts. And weeks of witnesses in the House, though, no, none who wanted to tie up the process by challenging subpoenas in court.

An attempt to build a consensus… in the Senate? Those days are long gone with Moscow Mitch leading the cowardly senators.

It’s just theater, more of an effort to get out the vote than anything else. Viewed in that light Pelosi is running circles around the Republicans. They’ll win the battle and the Democrats will win the war-I hope.

Um…Ted…are you seriously claiming that the Senate trial, completely controlled by Moscow Mitch and announced in advance, is the Democrats’ fault?

You can’t build a “bipartisan consensus” when one party refuses to take part! We’ve seen this as far back as Obama. We’ve seen GOP Senators ANNOUNCE that they were going to ignore evidence, refuse to hear witnesses, and vote blindly for #45.

I think the Democrats need to make their case better, yes, but this interpretation is simply bizarre.

Sadly that is how impeachment works. Look at the house of representative vote for Clinton’s impeachment….very much split on partisan lines. Right and Wrong don’t matter…sticking it to other party is what matters.

Speaking of Rush jobs, did you see how unprepared the lying Trump lawyers were at the trial? In front of a Supreme Court Justice they blatantly lied. This cannot stand.

2 lame counts. And “bipartisan” is a fantasy.

It’d be really nice if Sanders were to rise in the Senate and formally attempt to add all the counts listed in Gabbard’s censure resolution to the impeachment charges.

Can we just skip ahead to the re-election and nuclear war? Easier that way.

I guess drawing a cartoon is false information is easier than doing the smart research to get it right.

The sad part is that the Trump haters are willing to accept this charade as valid and honorable.

Adam Schiff is standing before the Senate telling them that the House built an ironclad incontestable slam dunk case, and within a minute is demanding the Senate subpoena absolutely vital documents and witnesses that are critical to proving his case. Even some of the liberal media commentators are turning thumbs down on that argument.

Rall has hit the nail on the head. The Dems had the opportunity and the duty to pursue all possible documents and witnesses during the Impeachment process. They sacrificed quality for speed, then strangely balked for a month while Pelosi tried to demand the Senate do the work the House chose to skip.

The fact of the matter is that the House Articles are poorly drafted, lacking substantive evidence and don’t come remotely close to meeting any normal legal standard as charging documents.

“Without impeaching key witnesses”? Um, yeah the House Dems did subpoenaed key witnesses and those individuals under the instructions of Trump and his WH staff ignored all those subpoenas. Way to ‘Trump-wash’ events and facts.

The administration prevented key witnesses from appearing….. You will never get a consensus with the Rump’s base.

Ted Rall is telling us that some in the Democrats have actually talked about consensus with the Reich Wingers?
