Republican senators on the Senate “jury” (and especially its foreman) took an oath to be fair and impartial. But having announced their verdict in advance and admitting they will collude with the defendant, they have already violated their oath.

Next time you are called for jury duty, try taking an oath of impartiality and then announcing in open court that you intend to cooperate with the defense and speak with one voice with the defendant.

Sure, we all understand that, while the Senate can be compared metaphorically to a jury, it is not actually a jury. There is no voir dire (challenging of potential jurors to ensure objective neutrality). These “jurors” are not selected by voir dire, but by elections in their respective states. A jury operates in a criminal trial. Impeachment is a political trial.

By announcing in advance that he is coordinating with the defendant — the jury foreman coordinating with the defendant — Mitch McConnell has admitted that the trial is rigged and so any acquittal is thus tainted and without merit. Similarly, when Lindsay Graham publicly states that he cannot be impartial, he admits that he intends to violate his oath.

They’ve been saying that or weeks. Might be interesting if they actually get nailed if they violate that oath, as it’s been pointed out such would a criminal offense.

Long ago there was an honorable party that called themselves Republicans. Don’t confuse them with the current group calling themselves “Republicans”.

They are all going to go crazy with no electronics. I’ll bet some will sneak in Sudoku or crossword puzzle books.

100% ACCURATE, sad to say. This is the END of American Democracy, folks. It was nice while it lasted, though…

Talk about your foregone conclusions. Well, at least it’s recorded that someone tried to do something rather than let democracy die in its sleep.

Make the jury Dems, and then the punchline becomes “He hasn’t been inaugurated yet!”

What the Murder Turtle is admitting is that Trump is guilty and without a rigged trial, he can’t win.

The Republican Party, the self-proclaimed party of law and order, have more than a few screws loose. Is there anyone in their party willing to take a stand and turn these criminally-inclined windbags into ethical human beings again? I definitely have my doubts.

Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said that the Dem Senators running in the primary should recuse themselves because they are biased. If you want to do that then Moscow Mitch and Leningrad Lindsey (and a few others like Nunes) need to be recused since they have openly stated that they will coordinate with Trump. Then take out Rand Paul for threatening any Repub that is running in 2020. Then take out any Repub running in 2020 because Paul has tainted them.
