When the foreman of the jury rigs the trial in cooperation with the defendant, it kind of makes a mockery of the Constitution.

There’s a difference between process and outcome. Democrats want a fair process with relevant witness testimony. Republicans want a predetermined outcome, so testimony is irrelevant.

Are the American people intelligent enough to recognize an unfair rigged process? , , , I think so…

Perhaps they will make their displeasure known come Nov. with more than just the commander-in-chief…

McConnell guarantees that the Senate will offer as fair a trial as the House did on impeachment! :-)

The world waits.. to see how Moscow Mitch will thread this needle. There is an old nursery rhyme about Humpty Dumpty and all the kings men failing to put him together again.. We will see.. if Mitch can do it.

ok, that was fair game for satire. I may be politically more centrist and liberal, but Pelosi’s line from the affordable care act should come back to haunt her.

Regardless though, Mitch is doing the wrong thing now, and Pelosi did the wrong thing then. Old saying, two wrongs don’t make a right.

Thank you for at least acknowledging that she has a reason for waiting. Every other right wing comic lately just implies that she is just dragging her feet for no legitimate reason.

That’s a big step in the right direction. Now you just need to consider the difference between process and outcome, and everyone will be happy.

    Hey Mitch!

Remember how the President* said he didn’t know no two Shreks?

Hells bells . . . he personally approved of one of his lawyers representing them before they were indicted!

Don’t that just send a little willy through yer entrails?

How (NOT) clever that Ramirez wants to resurrect this old line of BS. Since some RW commenters like ms-ss missed the reference, this is about the statement made by Nancy Pelosi about the ACA. The comment was taken out of context and did not include significant details that showed her point. The “fog of controversy” that the Repubs left off of her statement was referring to LIES like “death panels” and claiming ACA would “kill jobs”.

    https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/pelosi-healthcare-pass-the-bill-to-see-what-is-in-it/

The impeachment inquiry was NOT secret – more lies from the Repubs. The Dems followed the process that the Repubs put in place in 2015. The initial hearings behind closed doors included 47 Republicans, some of them then did the theater of breaking into the hearings when they were already a part of the process. Then when the House Dems changed the hearings to be open, Repubs still whined and voted against the changes. The articles of impeachment are being turned over and there isn’t anything hidden.

If it wasn’t so ridiculous it would have been funny that Kevin McCarthy had the nerve to call the impeachment process “An Exercise In Raw Partisan Politics”. Remember, this is the guy that openly admitted that the EIGHTH Benghazi hearing was done to hurt HRC poll numbers – and it came to the same conclusion as the previous seven.

“An Exercise In Raw Partisan Politics” would be more appropriate being used to describe an investigation into a real estate deal, and then when nothing is found, expand the search into personal dirt. Adding irony, Kavanaugh was the one who suggested looking for personal dirt on Clinton.

If you want to talk about the REAL hidden processes and cheating with voting on bills, let’s look at the Tax Bill of 2017. The vote was IN PROGRESS and Repubs were still making changes by scribbling illegible notes in the margins.

McConnell is just upset that by holding it, extra evidence has come to light making his plan to kill and bury it an untenable position.

All Pelosi wanted was to make sure that the tia wold be fair to all participants. McConnell has already declared himself to be a very biased juror.
