You have the nerve to disrespect the Democrats when your party serves one one steaming pile of crap after another, and then treats that steaming pile of crap like the Infallible Chosen of God once you get it elected?
The more appropriate cartoon would have shown a dozen candidates pulling the wagon of the party in various directions, with some of them starting to fade away. But I suppose Campbell couldn’t resist the opportunity to draw the candidates as a whole as a donkey’s ass. I think it’s generally good to have a lot of candidates. Nobody can say their candidate didn’t get a chance (fair chance is another issue).
Time to revise my prediction. I was convinced Warren would be the nominee. My thought was that Sanders would fade and drop and his supporters would shift to Warren.
Warren finally came clean on the cost of her various proposals and took a dive. I thought that would be temporary but she is very slow to bounce back. But she put the final nail in her coffin on Morning Joe a few days ago.
“This includes putting an end to energy mining and drilling on federal lands or offshore…”
“That means we’ve got to be willing to do things, for example, like regulation. By 2028, no new buildings, no new houses, without a zero carbon footprint.”
“By 2030, trucks — light-duty trucks and cars, zero carbon footprint. By 2035, all production of electricity, zero carbon footprint.”
No more fossil fuels. No new construction. All power generated on a “green” basis.
There is far too much resistance to the specific items she is talking about. Supporting the green movement is all well and good…until it hits you in the pocketbook. Which her proposals will do with a vengeance.
I now see Warren’s support shifting to Sanders. My prediction is Sanders if he takes a majority, but, if it goes to a brokered convention the party will choose Biden.
Too bad the republicans don’t have a serious candidate of their own. The Democrats will win by default by running against a narcissistic fascist who looks like he’s got Dementia quite badly
