He did it to distract from impeachment, and because he thinks it’ll play well with his base during the election. It worked (so far) on the impeachment, though I think he was surprised when Iran basically backed down, so the news cycle is starting to pay attention to the impeachment again (though Pelosi’s decision to pass the bill to the Senate may have something to do with that too).

I totally agree with the little cartoonist at the bottom.

The point is that unless he and his administration can firm up some rational excuse for taking the general out, they’re guilty of an international war crime, but he’s ALSO RIGHT in that none of the idiots, imbeciles and morons that support him give a rat’s “patoot” that it’s a war crime.

Is it really a surprise that a representatively flawed democracy, with a politically flawed electoral college, would result in an ethically flawed White House resident?

It’s obvious to a lot of people that he’s up to his usual smoke ‘n mirrors routine, hoping he’ll be lauded for being a leader (??), and everyone will forget about the his Impeachment.

A whole bunch of folks will always be right there with The Dotard. The ignorant gotta be ignorant, the haters gotta hate, the jerks gotta jerk, the liars gotta lie, and the entire lot of them are damn sick and tired of being called out about it. MAGA! Make America safe for ignorant haters, jerks, and liars again! tЯump☠ has shown them that they needn’t apologize. For anything. He’s their Man!

Then added to that there’s all of the authoritarian followers. Such folks are a natural part of humanity and comprise about 25% of any population. They depend on their “dear leader” to tell them who they are and what to do, and to protect them from all of the “evil” in the world. In the U. S., they are the evangelical Christianist and Dominionist believers who used to follow the historically ephemeral Jesus, but they’ve now switched their allegiance to the very real, very here-and-now, Tяцmp. He’s their new Messiah and the center of their universe. If he should fail their world will fail. That just can not, must not, happen!

Add them all up and one can get pretty close to the 40% very base base who share Tяцmp’s psychosis and support him regardless.

You realize that it’s the Iranian leadership that is being THE INTELLIGENT ONE here… NOT the lying Fat-Ass! When his own SecDef says that The Treasonweasel WAS LYING, you have to wonder WHY THE HELL PEOPLE STILL SUPPORT HIM!!! Are there REALLY that many INCREDIBLY STUPID PEOPLE wandering around on the streets, totally unsupervised???

Where O where are all the foaming-at-the-mouth righties who claimed that the embassy attack in Benghazi in 2012 was worse than the Revolutionary, Civil, and World Wars combined? “Why didn’t Obama prevent it?”, they demanded. “Why didn’t he warn the Americans there that they were in danger?”

And why didn’t Trump warn the 4 embassies he claims were under threat from Iran that they were in danger? [here insert sound of crickets]

His last four words neatly sum up the problem – his supporters don’t care. Not about truth, not about decency, not about America or the Constitution. Not even about Jesus. They’re garbage people who are entirely responsible for this mess.
