This chain of logic is so plain and obvious that only a dunderhead would fail to take it into consideration. Too bad we’ve got one of those “in charge.”

Nor in most American minds. Karma can be a b*tch and Homeland security won’t be able to save us all.

Although people do tend to use, as a weapon or threat, what they themselves most fear.

That’s going to happen, and given recent events it will be entirely understandable. With the Trump administration’s announced doctrine of “deterrence” as the basis for the assassination of Gen. Soleimani, and Russia and China now being threatened with it, the so-called “global policeman” begins to act more like a gestapo, but given that the current president is a quasi-fascist that’s appropriate. Joe Lieberman BTW has said he’d give the drone strike 9.5 out of 10, while rating Trump’s policies as a whole a 6. And people say (rightly) that Joe Biden is a right-wing Democrat.

    Makes sense.

I’ve heard it said that a thief’s greatest fear is that someone will steal his stuff. I suppose in a similar vein, someone who assassinates other people would have a strong fear that someone will assassinate him.

Drones are no different tan any other weapon. Just like throwing rocks, the intent of the user is what matters, not the article itself. Besides, drones are not stealthy like submarines.

What if our enemies start targeting our government and military officials traveling overseas? That’s now more of a reality than ever before.

the only thing new in this scenario is the technology. Otherwise, this has been standard operation procedure for virtually all government throughout the history of Western Civilization. Still, starry eyed dreamers have their place. We need them to point out the light of possible change in humanity.

Wasn’t there a sci fi story about declaring a state of assassination rather than war? Not a good idea against an opponent that employs suicide attacks.

“What if other countries use them, too?”

I’m sure Trump expects that he could sue them for “trademark violation”.

(It would never occur to him that he himself could die.)
