Years ago, when I was helping my step-daughter with her Algebra, I found that the techniques I learned, came easy to me. I just had a hard time to write it all out step-by-step, so that she could follow the solution. Helping my wife with her college work, was the same way,

My only success in Math with Dad was factoring polynomials. For some reason our daughter caught on to the trinomial middle term coefficient trick immediately.
