Apparently Carole King never thought it was too late to find Katie.

There were times about 25-30 years ago I wished I lived in Germany.

Did the girl get her job back after finding her dog?

Take care and may God bless.

Katie got drunk, and in her ailment, mistakenly directed Kade down the wrong street.

With all the beer there is in Germany, that’s understandable.

Now, Carol has got a friend that will come running to see her again. That’s nice… because people can be so cold…

I don’t know who writes these blurbs in the cartoons but does the one about the border collie make any sense to you? “She (Carol) quit her job and spent 57 days searching for her…” OK, we’re fine up to this point, but then it says, “Katie has since made a full recovery.” FULL RECOVERY FROM WHAT? By including the last sentence without explanation it can be interpreted that Carol spent 57 days with her nose to the ground searching for bones, squirrels, and following scents in Katie’s behalf until Katie came back home and could resume smelling for herself. I’ve found several like this in the past. I mean, you KNOW what they are trying to say, but the way it is presented is open to interpretation.

Lived in Germany (1961-1963) while in the Military. While sitting in a Gasthous (Tavern), I witnessed a 4 year old boy approach the barkeep with 2 DeutchMarks (Quarters US), and politely ask for a liter of beer. The barkeep opened the bottle for him, and the kid left the bar drinking the bottle. I asked if this was standard practice; the answer was, “German beer is very nutritious”. . . . Form your own opinion.

Carole and her husband, Vern, both searched for Katie. I assume he’s retired or works from home, since nobody ever mentioned him quitting his job. They had a lot of support from the community of Kalispell (Montana). Katie, after being missing for 57 days, was emaciated and severely dehydrated. Dogs in that condition don’t always survive. Katie was one of the lucky ones.

In the U.K., anything a postage stamp is attached to upside is illegal.

How can someone win a 10K race when they didn’t officially enter that one? Your race participant number is associated with the race you entered. Not for all races that day.

This site disputes the claim that it is illegal to put a postage stamp on upside down in the U.K.
