Ah yes, the call of the 1%er…“But…But…But… we’re RICH, so we DESERVE Another huge tax break to add to the deficit… but those poor folks don’t deserve ANYTHING since they aren’t rich…”
Well, maybe not little ponies, but the spending bill just aproved by the current Congress includes $21 million additional funding for nonlethal control of the wild horse population on public lands. So why not give some of those mustangs to deserving taxpayers and their children as part of the existing government program?
After all, it seems that Lisa’s proposed program (Bernie has never suggested it) is already government-funded.
I like Bernie. He’s always been honest and straightforward in his silliness. He’s a reminder of 50’s era Fellow Travelers. Elizabeth, on the other hand, strikes me as immature. She’s like a little girl digging through a pile of horse s—t looking for a pony, ’cause with all that pony manure, the pony must be there somewhere…
“Free stuff” is a trigger phrase for right wingers. You can reliably count on a MAGA hat wearer to react strongly against anybody who’s painted as being in favor of “free stuff” from school lunches to health care… though it even works if you just mention the idea, such as here. Those whose brains have been supporting MAGA hats are unable to distinguish “nuance” that the rest of us see without effort. Such as the “nuance” that the very real tax cuts are all going to the obscenely rich. Or the “nuance” that if we used our taxes to pay for health care, it would lower the overall cost while (very probably) increasing the quality of care. But we can’t do that because it would be “free stuff” which is anathema.
I surely hope that Lisa Benson and her family never have to worry about basic needs: food clothing and shelter. It’s a lonely world out there when lives falls apart. Some of us have family who can help, others are utterly alone. When all goes according to plan, capitalism works perfectly, but you know what they say, humans plan, God laughs.

If Lisa can have an orange money sucking ape, a paid for pony is the least the rest of us can have.

And then we all take our “pony” and get a job, ride to work on her, go shopping travel on vacation to spread our wealth around.

Lisa understands that the main problem in the US today is that the poor have too much money and the rich don’t have enough.

No such thing as government funded. The government doesn’t have any money that’s not taken from the taxpayers.

Why shouldn’t EVERYONE get a pony rather than the Trump method of giving the 1%ers a pony ranch at our expense?

But only billionaires get big fat tax breaks funded by cuts in Social Security and Medicare and Food Stamps.
Does the military take up the largest percent of the budget now?
