Considering that diamond’s are artificially manipulated by DeBeers controlling how many can be in the market at any point in time means they are actually worthless. DeBeers monopoly ended but the diamond consortium that took over cooperate to continue to control pricing. The reality is that there is a massive storage glut of diamonds which apparently are more plentiful in nature than they would have us believe. If you want to buy something really precious for your sweetie then buy an emerald.
