Oh-Oey! That face on Luann in panel one. Worst face ever. A huge “liar, liar, pants on fire” face. Luann doesn’t have a bone of deception in her body, clearly. Not a practiced fibber at all. Something she needs to learn from Tiffany…oh, yes, from Les here as well.

Les won’t spill the beans on Gunther. He can only speculate and guess coz Gunth is an intensely private guy.

Is Luann ready for Les to ask, “Why do you wanna know?”

i agree but if you think about it and i’m sure some of you will, he may know already if he hears the noise…. no need to go further you all know what i mean. let’s hope their rooms aren’t close together lol

Wow Luann is channeling tiffany. She wants gossip on her friends. Luann, if gunther was your friend, you wouldn’t go behind his back to get intel on his love and sex life. If he wants you to know, he’ll tell you. How bankrupt is your social life that you have to pump others for info so your own life feels exciting?

You were absolutely right. Luann IS looking for “intel” on Gunther! Frankly I was hoping Luann was BETTER than that, but NOPE!

And Lu is turning to Les for that “Intel.” Now I WONDER what Les will want in return for gathering that “intel.” Talk about making a deal with the Devil.

Jeeze. First it was Tiffany in a unholy alliance with Les. NOW it seems Luann is about to follow the SAME route. What IS it about bad boys and nice girls anyway? Is Luann really that petty? And is she really that desperate that she’d turn to Les?

This should be a revealing week.

And I don’t mean any new “revelations” on Gunther’s “sex life!” :)

“Nothing’s up.” Indeed, Luann…look how far you’ve lowered yourself in seeking “Intel” from the resident sleaze. How much further will you compromise yourself when Les asks, “What’s it worth, Luann?”

Very unflattering Luann. Get a life! Does not matter your age – a nosy gossip is a nosy gossip be it a teen, or a senior citizen. I wonder if she really likes Gunther? How about Jack? He seems like a great guy – are you going to let him find someone else and then worry about digging into his personal life too. Very disappointed in you Luann!

Well, Luann, it is a simple as this – if you would have stayed with Gunther when he was reaching out for you, you would be on the inside track of his sex life.

I thought she left high school.

I remember when Luann and Quill broke up. Before it actually happened, Quill told her to get a life. Luann agreed and then left. Well, it looks like she didn’t after all. I remember cheering when Luann did the dumping, but in retrospect, maybe it was Quill who was done a favor in that he no longer had to put up with someone so selfish, immature, and now, nosy.

Why are you so obsessed about this?

Luann, get a life and a clue. Put yourself in Gunther’s shoes. How would YOU feel if you found out he was talking to your friends about your sex life? You’d be pissed and not wanna talk to him or see him ever again.

I agree with GG above, what might Luann’s motive be? Greg give the girl an outlet, you don’t seem to be drawing an intimate alliance, hoped for, between Luann and Gunther? Why does she wan to know so bad? I suggest she gets Jack out of friendzone and quick, You know no questions were raised about Brad and Toni before they were marred, it could be assumed. Our main character must reman forever virginal, or is this a slow march toward intimate womanhood?

Her facial expressions and body language are priceless though. Sge would last 1 minute underxover

She was the one to friend zoned Gunther , so what does she want now?

Oh, Gunth is getting nowhere with Bets but there’s this hot blonde who climbs in and out through his bedroom window.

Darn I thought this would be over and done.

I seriously doubt that Les is going to tell Luann that he’ll give her the information if she has sex with him.

I think she is subconsciously (or even consciously) jealous. She is probably going to unintentionally (or intentionally) screw things up between Gunther and Bets somehow. If she does, I wonder if Gunther may write her off if he is serious about Bets and wants to keep her.

Of course, she would go to Les. He is Gunther’s house mate – he knows whether the two spend the night there (or Gunther does not come home at night). Of course, Les could lie and say “of course, they are.” just to stir the pot and Luann goes running back to Bernice and tells her they are. And then the rumors start flying (as the boarding house explodes as well as Gunther and Bets).

I can understand snooping on people you don’t or hardly know if they pose a threat or you’re just into cheap gossip, but what does that say about you as a ‘friend’ when you go behind a true friend’s back for such personal information? Luann, if you and Gunther have the friendship you claim you have, just skip the BS and ask him yourself! Whether he spills the beans about he and his GF to you is not the point as long as you have enough respect for him to ask him face 2 face.

What a jerk Luann is. She has nothing else to worry about than Gunther’s sex life? Why does she care about that? Does she really think Les isn’t going to go straight to Gunther and tell him what she’s doing?

The gossip mill is activated.

Oh gross! I’m so sick of this Gunther stuff. Only Gunther would be this interested in Gunther. Or his mother.

I don’t know why she cares so much to embarrass herself by going to Les , or anyone about Gunther’s sex life, unless she has feelings towards him, that came out when she saw the pictures of Gunther kissing Bets

Nosy Luann is so funny, she looks like a happy child. Interesting to see that Les doesn’t seem bothered by her behavior. He looks much more relaxed and calm than he used to be. Who knows what will emerge from this very serious investigation?

Luann, you have been ignoring Gunther your whole life. So why worry about him now?

Give Les credit for being blunt.

Another thought occurred to Me.

What if Tiffany walks in and gets right in the middle of this “pry fest?” That would pretty much tarnish her image after so much positive improvement.

BUT, what if it works out that Les agrees to get “intel” on Gunther for a “price?”

While Tiffany agrees to get intel from Bets, seeing that they are pals.Possibly even roommates?

Sad times……..,

And so the episode of last week becomes an arc.

I have a perfect record of predicting what’s coming on Mondays! Perfectly awful! I was sure Greg would give this subject a rest this week. Oh well! “Hilarity ensues®!”

Chuckle. Lu’s curiosity is Gunther’s sex life and Greg’s sign in panel one may be dropping a hint? If Luann piques Les’ curiosity, things may get very interesting at the Gulag. :o)

I’m of two minds on this one…

Part of me says she’s jealous because Gunth is no longer orbiting herthe other part of me says she’s just incredibly curious because he’s close to her and she wants to know if he’s scoring or missing out (i.e. she sees him as so much of a brother type that she’s insanely curious)

The latter type mixed in with other high school era friends and the urge to gossip might be messy.

Besides, from what I see, she can probably get every bit of information she wants to draw a good picture from Bet’s social media!

Seriously, who (especially a girl) cares if their friend is having s-e-x? Unless, she has romantic feelings for Gunther, this is a silly and pointless arc.

Last week I was giving her a pass for just being curious about her friend. Now? Actively seeking out the info? That’s just creepy.

Really disappointed. Not what I expected of Luann. She’s not in high school anymore…

I think luann REALLY needs a heart to heart with Gunther.

Remember, this is a strip. It has authors. So where is GnK going with this? They’re setting something up.

Wow, they are having Luann regress emotionally in a big way. But it may be amusing.

It cracks me up. People thought things were to straight laced and suddenly we have speculation on Gunther and Bets and Luann maybe “digging” a little. Come on, relax and enjoy. Young people in college speculate on those things, heck it also happens in work places of any size (seen and heard the gossip, also watched several marriages get wrecked because of office play). How many have talked with neighbors and “learned” about another neighbor. Let’s see if Luann is doing this so she can be there for Gunther incase (I believe she’s concerned for Gunther more than anything), also if maybe Luann learns a little something about herself and her relationships. To paraphrase an earlier comment; “what has Luann learned and applied since Quill?”.

I want to see Tiffany walk in, overhearing the conversation, and totally castigate both of them for gossiping about Gun and Bets.

I knew it. Lucille rejected Gunther’s affections, but when he finds somebody else, she’s consumed with jealousy.

People are monsters.

This is going to go downhill really fast!

Luann did her best to break up Gunther & Bets by groping him in front of Bets on their first date, now she is obsessed with the couple and their intimate secrets. I have never known Luann to be such a creep. Hopefully Les will offer to get her inside intel by taking her on a date to the house. Will hilarity ensue or just more creepiness?

This is actually full-on squicky creepy and if the genders were reversed people would be even more disgusted. This is middle school behavior… they should just rewind as they can’t seem to write a believable young adult.

Gunther expressed (or TRIED to express) his mixed emotions (mostly discomfort) over Bets’ social media obsession and her bossy dominance in the relationship. He could probably use a good opportunity to talk that through with a genuine friend. Luann does not rise up to being that friend. (Instead she is drawn to the sleaze…???! Ugh!)

I think Les will have info about Gunther, but not what Luann expects. He will have some juicy news about Gunther and Bets.

So what kind of info will Les have to share? Maybe he heard Gunther cry out a name when he had Bets in his bedroom? Maybe the name he heard Gunther cry out was Luann?

Maybe he heard Bets saying “That’s okay, Gunthie. That happens to a lot of men.”

No character has popped in to and out of Luann’s romantic life more than Gunther Berger. Through the years he has (via Greg’s strip) wooed her, kissed her and she enjoyed it, double dated her, been seen naked by her and complemented for his physique, intimately fondled her at least twice for costume measurements, did the first cosplay with her in the Gulag, and on, and on. And each time Greg flirts with a Luann-Gunther relationship he has Luann overtly friend zoning him. It’s as if Greg wants to hook these two up but thinks it will destroy the character of the strip.

Right after this Luann tumbles for Quill and Gunther tumbles for Rosa. Both were big time hookups; both went down in flames.

Now we have Luann expressing a curiosity about Gunther and Bets that she never did while he was hooked up with Rosa. One could deduce that this is not a prurient interest in Gunther. It could be an existential angst about loosing someone she has (in her mind) had in her back pocket… just in case???

Just trying to plumb Greg’s mind here. :o\

Oh do grow up Luann! What are you, mentally and emotionally 13? If you wanted to know about Gunther’s love life, show some respect for him and just ask him. If he doesn’t want to say, respect him and go about with your own life. Time to start being an adult. A few days ago, someone commented that Bets is the person that Gunth needs- a real woman, and not a girl-child like Luann. Based on the way that Luann’s arc is going, I’m agreeing more and more.

What’s next? A “Mission Impossible” type caper involving ladders, spy cameras, questioning anyone why might have some “intel”? It’s not as if Gunth was possibly having substance abuse problems, or getting sucked into something illegal. He doesn’t need any intervention, or nosy “friends” spying on him! MYOB, Luann!

Considering that G&K “cut” to this arc mid-week, at least a week and a half ago, apparently, this is going to be an “ongoing thing.”

We can only hope they move on next week. Heaven knows I hoped they would move on this week, but we see how that’s turning out.

Luann is now officially my least favorite character in the strip.

Perhaps Les and Luann deserve each other…

Note for sallymargaret – I’m with you on this one. Methinks it’s time to check out once again until the scenery changes.

I realize this is a comic strip for children, so this is a message for the kids (and also for many of the adult readers, whose comments suggest they have also never had an adult sexual relationship).

Kids, don’t do what Luann is doing. No adult with an ounce of maturity (never mind class, etiquette, manners, and a sense of appropriate topics for conversation) ever asks for “intel” on whether a friend is having sex with another friend, and that is especially true when those two friends are quite obviously a couple. Anyone who does something like this is a weirdo.

Mind your own business Luann!! Nobody likes a snitch!!

it amazes me how some of the comments lead one to believe that being curious about a friend/acquaintance is bad. This is how opinions are formed. if you think that your friends don’t talk about you behind your back think again.

That girl needs a life.

Luann certainly doesn’t know how to be casual and nonchalant. She should just say ‘hey i’ve trying to reach Gunther these days have you seen him?" Les is right. Luann is a ‘lousy liar’, not even a good actress here.

Lame, just lame

Ah well. I was hoping G&K wouldn’t go this route, making Luann a prying sneak. I was hoping they’d have her show a little maturity and common sense. I guess that was too much to hope for, it’s much easier to fall back on the lame cliches.

But what in the world makes Luann think she can believe anything Les tells her? Why doesn’t she just approach Gunther? Something like: “Wow, Gunth you and Bets have a huge following. I never thought you’d be such a social media star.” That at least would be a good opening for a conversation.

Still it’s none of her business how intimate he and Bets are, and he would have every right to tell her to butt out. He never ask about her and Quill, unless Quill was keeping him informed. They were rooming together at the time.

Lot of comments today. Must keep this short. Les will tell Luann anything he thinks she want’s to know. Luann will end up with a time share in the Brooklyn Bridge.

I love this strip, but stuff like this makes Luann character. Sigh, at least she isn’t scheming to make Gunther fall in love with her again. That’s something right?

Now why should she be interested in Gun?

Women are so nosey. Why is it so important if you know if Gunther and his girlfriend are doing the wild thing? Jealous?
