I don’t think anything can beat the cartoon on the front page of Variety the day Mel Blanc died. It showed a stage with all the characters he voiced, with their heads down, in front of an empty mike at the front of the stage. It was captioned “Speechless”. I almost cried at that one.
Am just now thinking that the pic would maybe have been easier to understand if he had made Big Bird yellow in the cartoon rather than more or less black. Or was that supposed to be for mourning?

Caroll Spinney, the voice of Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch died yesterday. I believe this is a tribute to him.
