Interesting solution. I have several Chihuahuas, and in one book about them somebody asks “Is my Chihuahua a dog or a gopher?” (due to it’s habit of burrowing under blankets at night). Mine do that too. Seems some if not all Chihuahuas live in underground burrows in the wild, so it’s instinct. Plus, they like the warmth I can add personally. These guys get cold easily in the northern states. I live near San Francisco, and even our mild winters are too much, and they should be kept indoors 24/7 in winter (except to relieve themselves).
Every time I take My Cindy (Lou Who) to the vet, I have to take her temperature before we leave. Dog normal is 102.5. By the time we get in to see the vet, she has herself in such a state that her temp is over 104. Brat.
