I guess Slim will have to budget and eat cheaper somewhere to avoid double payment on a Corky Diner restaurant bill with that new or substitute waitress.
The “hip” cafe in the town where I used to live hired a couple of very unpleasant servers. The regulars endured it for a little while, made a few comments to the owner, to no avail. Eventually we took our breakfast business elsewhere.
I must concur with the waitress on duty. When someone immediately greets you with “Hey, you’re not…..” or “Where’s so and so?”, it’s tantamount to saying, “You don’t matter”. Is Slum in there to eat or to judge the staff? He should stick to what he does best. And that’s not judging.
