While I didn’t quite follow the plot here (what does the king mean by “What time is it?”). being born in Chicago, I did enjoy the mention. I wonder if the “Canned meat from Chicago” is a reference to the 1904 novel by Upton Sinclair classic “The Jungle,” which dealt with the meat packing industry in Chicago at the time.
