That’s one way to become the talk of the neighborhood.

Christmas letters are becoming a dying breed, thankfully, along with Christmas cards in general saving a ton of money on postage, though getting a holiday text or email does not quite have the same impact.

Why do people assume that everyone is interested to know every aspect of your life?

I hate to be the voice of dissent here, but I like getting cards and yearly letters in the mail. Most of my family and friends live far enough away to make casual visits difficult, and while I have a Facebook page, I rarely look at it, let alone post to it, or look at anyone else’s pages. The letters let me know what’s going on in their lives, and Christmas cards make a pretty decoration on the mantle. I still send cards to everyone, and nobody has told me they didn’t like it. :)

I still like the Xmas card routine, as long as I don’t have to participate. Some of the Xmas missives are pretty egocentric. Happy holidays!

Everyone loves to get a card in the mail. I have a friend that started using the e-cards and we all told her to stop. One of my favorite albums contains all the cards hubby and I have exchanged over 35 years.

Actually, a gesture of good will. Now everyone else isn’t ashamed that their family isn’t doing as well as others!

I still make handmade cards and send them. I like the personal touch, which is becoming rare.
