Sometimes they have samples at the store so that shouldn’t matter.

That’s like a married honey badger reading that you should “never go to bed mad”.

I have mastered the first rule. But now I must learn the second: Don’t eat so much before that you lose all desire to go grocery shopping. I run out of things a lot that way.

I can never go grocery shopping too. Fortunately I can go food stealing.

I’m hungry so I need to go grocery shopping. I’m hungry so I can’t go grocery shopping. I’m doomed.

There is something to that! I remember going into the store hungry recently (something I rarely do) and every food item looked so good! I quickly grabbed the one item I went in there for and got out as fast as I could!

Under the same logic, her boyfriend Freddie can never visit a clothing store that has a pair of pants displayed on a mannequin.

Just go to Whole Foods to shop, you’ll soon lose your appetite when you see the prices!

Good advice, but that’s when you pick up lovely treats you might otherwise ignore.

I liked Gallagher’s joke on this – “They say you should eat before you go to a grocery store, that way you don’t buy so much. That don’t work with a liquor store, does it? You go there drunk, you buy everything they got.”

I’m just the opposite – I can’t go grocery shopping if I’ve just eaten, because nothing looks good. OTOH, when I’m hungry I don’t dare walk into a KMart, Target, etc.!

I don’t think dogs are constantly hungry. I think they just make a point to eat as much food as possible at the first opportunity because of survival instincts, from back when they might have to wait a long time between opportunities.
