For once, I agree with Lisa Benson.

The Republicans already have their rich, white New Yorker who bought his way into the White House, so what makes anyone think the Democrats would want a repeat of that fiasco?

I somehow doubt there is much appetite in the Democratic Party for a guy who served three terms as New York mayor in which he RAN AND WON AS A REPUBLICAN, just because the guy has more than fifty BILLION dollars and thinks he is entitle to buy himself a presidency.

That may work in Republican-land, but I doubt that lead balloon can gain much altitude in the skies of Democratic-land.

Lisa being correct is like the broken analog clock being correct for an instant or two each day and wrong the rest (most) of the day.

Anyone who has the money to spend for over a year to get into a race is rich! They’re all well off, plus donations help them afloat. Look at the rat in the WH!!

Bloomberg’s ego (and money!) combined with a weak field led him to this point. I wouldn’t be surprised if the rumors are true that Hillary is thinking about a run. Rumor in MA is that ex-Governor Deval Patrick is considering filing papers by the end of the month to be eligible for the NH primary. The problem is, none of these bozos are any better than the current field of meh.

I wonder who lead Bloomberg to believe that balloon could fly.

Conservative pundit (and evangelical Christian) Michael Gerson, about Nikki Haley specifically but in general about Trump lackeys AND Trump voters: “…if you are a national security official working for a malignant, infantile, impulsive, authoritarian wannabe, you need to stay in your job as long as you can to mitigate whatever damage you can, before the mad king tires of your sanity and fires you. […] On the whole, I’m glad that responsible officials such as Kelly and Mattis stayed as long as they did to prevent damage to the country. But I also think they have a moral obligation to come out before the 2020 election and say what they know about Trump’s unfitness. Saving the country requires no less.”

I suppose that, were I a cartoonist who supported Trump, I too would celebrate every time a Democratic candidate drops out, either suddenly or (as she did with O’Rourke) after an extended time. What else could one do?
