I didn’t think they had any “under” under their beds. I thought their beds were just boxes on the floor with no legs on them. When I was a kid, my monster was sometimes under the bed and sometimes in the closet. He was green and prickly – kind of like walking cactus – the kind that grows tall and has "arms. And he had square head.
National Parents As Teachers Day. Parents do need to get more involved in their kids’ education. The teachers can’t do it all. A good start would be if parents taught their kids to respect others – especially their elders.
I remember sitting on my bed with my arms around my first 6 cats (all siamese mix!) and telling them how lucky I was. A really special moment. We should finally be going home this morning after sitting around for days waiting for test results that showed nothing could be treated, then waiting yesterday for delivery of a regulator to give Craig more oxygen. In the meantime I have been surviving for days with just a few hours sleep and don’t remember ever feeling so exhausted – and cranky! Can hardly wait to see Fred, LJ, Orange, Blue and Barney.
I was always afraid to drape my hand over the side of the bed at night—-also, when I had to reach for the basement light switch in the dark. Thought for sure “something” would grab me, lol.
If you read any of Piers Anthony’s Xanth books, bed monsters are not allowed to go out from under the bed. Sunlight will turn them into dust. The Rules say they can’t go anywhere in the darkness that they can’t go in the light. They can try to grab kids’ arms or legs, but aren’t allowed to reach up onto the bed, only get what goes underneath.
I doubt any monster would stand a chance against Lily! On another note, saw a snowflake moray eel in the pet shop today. I think moray eels are cool, but I don’t know if I’d want one for a pet. ( I probably wouldn’t like to find one under my bed either.)

IME, it’s usually the cats that are under the bed. The monsters are at the door, blowing the yard, vacuuming…
