I don’t see any food in that boat, which means they’re going to have to eat someone. Probably Bob.

Is the person he is planning to sue in the boat?

I don’t know, Bob. They look like they’re fixing to get … chummy with you, and you’re outnumbered on votes.

It’s too bad that 99% of attorneys give the other 1% a bad name!

Women and children first. It looks like Bob doesn’t fit either category.

Another fine example of our the screwy values our capitalistic system forces on society. Some group(s) can wrangle the system to pay and coddle them lavishly while those of us with arguably more “essential” occupations pull the weight and just manage to scrape by. We may have the best form of government yet invented (Churchill) but it seems to me it’s time to invent a new, better, one. One where hard work, vision, humanity and value to the greater good are ALL rewarded.

With apologies to Wiley: This ’toon flies in the face of the have-your-cake and eat-it-too feminists who demand workplace and marriage equality yet when a major catastrophe occurs, relapse into “women & children first” mentality.

A little-known fact from the dark days of WW2 is that John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, and Richard J. Daley all served in the US Navy in the Pacific theater and were in fact all aboard the same frigate when it was sunk by the Japanese. By chance, they found themselves sharing a lifeboat. Taking stock of the inventory, they realized that they had only enuf provisions for a single person to survive until he reached the nearest friendly island. So, as staunch American believers in democracy, each man gave a speech as to why he should be the one to get the boat while the other 2 jumped overboard. Then they voted. The results were Kennedy, 1; Nixon, 1; and Daley, 243.

Typical sexist male. Why couldn’t one of the women in boat be a lawyer?

You know, it’s amazing how many people hate attorneys and consider them a “necessary evil”. Every comic makes fun of them. You know the law is not written properly when it takes a specialist to go to court.

Isn’t court supposed to be a place where people go to decide grievances in a common sense manner? What is wrong with this world?

(Wait, let me re-word that. What isn’t wrong with this world? There, that will make the answer much shorter.)
