How do Republicans justify the resident’s behavior? What do they tell their children? Do they want their children to be like the resident? Will enough evangelicals, still believing the resident is the evil means to a positive end, continue supporting him for much longer?
Actually, that should be a litter-box with the Trumper proudly eating trump-nuggets, mumbling about how stupid them “Liberuls” are for not eating them too. . .
I no longer believe the Republicans have their heads in the sand. There has been, and continues to be SO MUCH blatantly obvious corruption and idiocy from the orange buffoon! They are knowingly choosing to disregard the rule of law, common sense, and integrity to further their own selfish ambitions.
Information aversion is a recursive implementation of disappointment aversion. The reality is listening to facts that contradict what we want to believe is stressful because it can cause us to be disappointed. To avoid this, Trumpettes only get news from sources that support their beliefs, especially when wrong, but they also go an extra step, effectively putting their fingers in their ears and loudly singing “la, la, la” whenever they feel that they are about to hear the truth. Their conclusion “Because they run the risk of being disappointed each time they receive a signal, [they] are intrinsically information averse.” The scientists state there is no cure.
What happens when you demonize rational thought: You get people for whom “feelings” are paramount and no way (no desire) to measure what’s actually good.

They wouldn’t do that. They’ve been trained (some self-trained) to only see what they are instructed to see.

Now this is a great cartoon. I rarely save the political ones, but this is one for the books. What a hoot!
Thanks, Tim.
