I just Googled it. Panda Dung Tea sells for roughly $3,500.00 for only 50 grams!!

So I guess the yak milk goes in the Panda Dung Tea – I don’t know, doesn’t sound particularly appetizing to me…

Didn’t somebody call this a while ago — that she’d end up rooming with Dez and Bernice?

Okayyyyy…. so Ed McGuffin was actually just a plot contrivance to get Tiff from Point A to Point B. No longterm partnership, no new job for Tiff working for Ed, no worrying about what happens to Ed, how he got the money, and how he resells her luxury stuff next to his normal junk… the only important thing now is that all of Tiff’s stuff is gone, at her price.

It seems a bit incongruous that Tiff, who couldn’t even afford any food on Thanksgiving, is now rooming with people who can afford Panda Dung Tea! Is Dez actually rich? Why couldn’t she solve Tiff’s money problems, then? That table might’ve looked cool in Bernice and Dez’s dorm room.

Panda Dung tea is just green tea that was supposedly fertilized with panda dung.

Good for Tiffany for facing her situation with courage and determination!

“I prefer my tea with less dung, please”.

Tiff wanted to sell her furniture for a lot of money. A trash-picker dolt shows up. Magic happens. All is well in Pittsville.

More magic happens. Bernice doesn’t act like a jerk!

Maybe Dez is just kidding. The extravagant drink mention could be symbolic to celebrate Tiffany’s accomplishment.

James Fairhaven and Thomas Farrel senior had bonded over a mutual love of sailing, and even more than the neighboring chalets the families owned in Aspen, the yacht Fair Haven had been a second childhood home for Tom Jr. and baby Natalie Fairhaven. Adept at sailing, swimming and the new sport of scuba diving, both children were as at home in the rigging of the yacht as they were in the water, or even under it, diving for crab and abalone which would be served up immediately when the kids shinnied up the anchor lead. OK, so did Ed hand the cash over to Tiffany? Or did he take the furniture on “consignment” and agree to pay Tiffany a percentage of what he makes? Or what? Are we to assume he paid her the asking price and she already paid off the school for the next semester? If she hasn’t received any cash yet from Ed, she is probably assuming too much. Ed may not be as stupid as he was drawn to look and could end up taking Tiffany for a ride.

let’s see; if Ed paid Tiffany up front; she could go down to Good Will, buy more typical dorm furniture for a song, and still have more than enough money left over for rent.

Jeeze.

No resolution on how much money (if any) Tiffany got for her furniture.

Just a week of intense negotiations and POOF! All the furniture, and Ed are gone with the wind. This is like the comic Strip equivalent of “fast forwarding,” on a VCR.

All that’s left now is to meet Tiffany’s new roommate(s).

PS: And one would have THOUGHT that Miz “super efficient” R.A. Bernice would have had ALL the minor details completed ahead of time having full knowledge that Tiffany was moving.

Tiff’s expression in panel 3 is great; it’s saying, Seriously???

If all of this is supposedly a learning experience for Tiffany, I’d say she’s earned her PhD…with honors.

Kudos to Bernice and Dez for not allowing Tiffany to spend the night in an empty room!

It’s funny that half of Tiffany’s possessions are now Make-up. We can see what her priorities are. We won’t be able to tell if the day changes by what Tiffany is wearing, since she only has one outfit left.

I’m very impressed, Way to go Tiff. Gray skies are clearing up!

sometimes it’s not a bad thing. Some couches are more comfortable than beds.

Tiffany is finally learning to make her way in the world!

Probably a couple of months or till the end of the semester.

I feel like this “situation” will last very long and I love this♡ (to be honest, I’ve hoped for this almost from the beginning). Can’t wait ti see how this will effect on all of them, especially with Bernice. I suppose that Tiffany has sell her furniture for the price she wanted.

Panda Dung tea is nothing to be scared of, except for the ridiculous price. The dung is just used as fertilizer, these are not tea leaves collected from Panda’s dung after the Panda ate the plant. It would be the same if any farmer named the origin of his fertilizer when selling his fruits and vegetables. (Buy my cow dung strawberries).

Yak milk is another matter. It tastes and smells like a mix of goat and urine*. To each his own, of course, some people do like it and it is drinkable. But since it has a very strong flavour, mixing it with a very expensive tea would be silly as it would overpower the tea. Any common strong tea would be good enough (also is Tibet and Nepal the mix is usually tea and rancid yak milk butter). It’s just as if you used an extremely rare and expensive brandy, like a LouisXIII cognac, to mix in your eggnog, or a 24yo Macallan to do whisky and coke.

*someone is bound to ask me how I could tell.

Since Tiffany’s dorm room seemed to be nearer to an apartment than a “regular” stereotypical dorm room, cleaning could take a day or, two. Inspection, once scheduled, and, the inspector gets there, should only take an hour, or, two (presuming he/she finds no problems.) Filling out the paperwork should take relatively no time at all, but getting it approved by certain departments…

Remember when Bernice would not let her take in another roommate because that was against the rules? How can she allow her couch to be slept on?! The shock!

Hubs says the strange choice of beverages sound like some Frank Zappa song.

I saw the little x on Dez’s pendant and tried to click on it to make this arc go away, but it didn’t work.

Down to one suitcase… and an enormous box full of makeup. That’s Tiffany.

Story line: It was “stick a fork in it” done Monday or Tuesday. The rest of the week has been milking that yak.

As for the tea – makes me glad I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – even if we’re no longer supposed to call ourselves “Mormons” or “LDS” anymore!

I feel like she went a little overboard on the minimalism, surely Ed didn’t also buy the large framed picture Tiff had of herself? As someone who is helping her niece get ready to go away to college next fall, you need a bit more than a box of makeup and a suitcase with clothes. Hello, no pillow or blanket even?

What about Bern bending the rule regarding someone staying in the dorm who’s not assigned to it? Again, she’s not being very by-the-book… ("Member Pyro?!?!) Maybe she’s showing signs of growth, too? Or do y’all think she’s setting a bad example by doing so?

If she unloaded all that stuff, she should have the money for a hotel!

So all she has is a big box of make-up & a suitcase full of money!

I always suspected Des was dealing, which would explain how she can afford the tea…

(Also, FYI, civets, mentioned above, are also used in the making a Chanel #5, via an excretion of their sexual glands. Just so you know.)

I can’t help noticing she has a tiny suitcase, and a giant box marked “makeup.”

Let’s see it took a week to move now how many days to get a room. This strip seems to have been put on super slow.

Sharing a room with these two could be very entertaining; for us. :o)

It might remind Bernice of the emotions Piro induced in her. Dez may need to cleanse the couch karma with tea crystals.

I, for one, am glad we may see more of these two characters in their own arc.

Wow! Bernice shocked. A lot happened over Thanksgiving “holidays”. Tiff down to two boxes. And Bern and Dez accepting of TIff’s decision and share their space. Wonder how long the paperwork and cleaning will take AND who will be the new roommate?

The big question – Will Tiff’s new roommate be a character we already know – or a new one? G & K could play a cruel trick on Tiff if her new roommate has a cheerleader body.

That is what friends are for.

This is an awesome step for her and her independence!!

Have you ever wondered how Dez affords those glimmers of major spending?

I am happy that Tiff is trying and is willing to make logical sacrifices to achieve good goals.

Yeah. Hard pass on the tea and the milk. Irish Breakfast and three sugars, please.

It seems the interaction with Ed over the table and lamp was short lived and productive; I’m glad for that. Tiffany is adapting to circumstances. She’s a ‘go getter’. I think the folks here who keep saying she should get a sugar daddy and forget about college can put that thought to rest. What’s even more great is the friendship developing between these three and the helping hand that Bernice has extended on so many occasions.

Tiffany and her meagre remaining belongings (a lot of makeup and a small suitcase of clothes) are absorbed into the cocoon of Bernie and Earth Mother Dez. How long can this last?

Bernice and Dez are very optimistic, even though they now have to sleep 3 in a dorm room!

How long will this living arrangement last? Well, if it were me and I was being offered up some Panda dung tea as soon as I walked through the door, I’d be jumping straight out the window….
