This cartoon has it all. The false narrative that getting a bad guy makes you immune to prosecution. The false analogy of a lynching — which utterly denigrates the actual victims of lynching. The fake assertion that the investigation is somehow illegitimate despite the House Dems following the law to the letter. Maybe Gary should mention that Trump nearly derailed the entire al-Baghdadi mission with his sudden and impetuous pullout from Syria and betrayal of the Kurds. Maybe Gary should mention that Trump revealed military secret tactics in his press conference, thus making future missions more dangerous and less likely for special forces. Maybe Gary should mention that the rules allowing for investigation without a House vote were put into place by House Republicans in 2015. Maybe Gary should mention that those GOP reps who “stormed” the hearing broke the law. No? Because he has no defense for the Con in Chief whose motto is, “When you’re under investigation for wrongdoing, attack the investigator.”
So, Mr. Varvel, you really in your heart believe people being hung because of the color of their skin is equivalent to a constitutional process investigating alleged wrongdoings by a U.S. president? Your moral and ethical compass has become unpinned.
We had intelligence assets in Syria that tipped us off as to al-Baghdadi’s location and warned us that he was about to move. Then Trump pulled us out of Syria and abandoned the Kurds. We had to launch the raid right away because if he moved we wouldn’t be able to locate him again. People in the military and intelligence communities are saying that the raid succeeded despite Trump, not because of him.
Nancy is standing on the gallows built for legal executions and for Tiny. Lynchings only need trees with stout branches (very stout in Tiny’s case). Gary shows Tiny fleeing the law and the constitution.
Personally, I wouldn’t tell Nancy what time it is, and if she were to tell me the sky is blue, I’d run outside to see what color it had become. As for Chuck, he just says whatever he’s told to say by his handlers, so no point in providing him with any objective info whatsoever.
Nancy Pelosi put the House Intel committee in charge of the impeachment hearings. That means most of Trump’s best defenders are sidelined when the inquiry goes public — Jordan, Meadows, Zeldin. Also, there is the largest ratio of Dems to Republicans on the House committee. Brilliant.
Even when being impeached Bill Clinton did his job, signed bills and kept Congress informed. Impeachment is just Trump’s excuse for not doing the job that he is unfit to do.

The President thinks its more important to inform the Russians than to allow for constitutionally-defined Congressional oversight.

trump still thinks he is still running a private organization and needs to answer to no one.

Have you noticed that, lately, the more wrong Varvel is, the more outrageous he becomes ? ..Feels like desperation.

When they impeached Clinton, he didn’t stop doing his job.
Congress is a co-equal branch of Government, elected by the American People.
Trump having a hissy fit doesn’t change that.

A more correct cartoon should have Trump still in the Noose and Pelosi saying “To bad the death of Al-Baghdadi won’t save you.”.

All Trump Disciples are required to believe that an impeachment inquiry is exactly the same as a lynching.
And, Congress has NO authority to provide Congressional oversight.
And, their Messiah is absolutely above the law.
Varvel qualifies on all counts.
