To quote Fergus Butler-Gallie: The single most adhered-to faith in the world. . . It’s operation is entirely vested in a solitary pensioner imprisoned in an art gallery.
Church must grow not stagnate in ancient dusty old tomes and worn out moldy old ways of looking at life. Church must be alive in the now not stagnate in an eddy of time. Just keep the Love alive.
" Over the years. we have tried to eliminate them thru war, thru starvation, thru attrition. Nothing has, in the long run, worked. And so we have devised a new passive strategy. We’ll breed them out ! "
Hardly anyone enjoys change and the difficulties that accompany it, but Time requires it. I believe Jesus said that a seed must die and be planted for it to grow – Well, if the church isn’t cultivated and pruned it will not only cease to grow, it will die. I strongly doubt that the Lord intended his church to mindlessly and selfishly interpret His teachings as it has through the centuries. All of God’s children deserve to participate in the whole of the church; and priests would be less tempted to sin – AND would relate better when they advise their parishioners in how to run their lives…
Speaking of hats, why do most of the men in the Vatican seem to wear hats?
I know Orthodox Jewish men always wear head coverings out of respect for God, but non-Jewish men, if they wear a hat, will remove it as a gesture of respect, for instance, meeting someone of higher rank.
So I would think that Catholic men, especially in the Vatican, would go hatless out of constant respect.
My main reason for leaving the Catholic Church was that it seemed to put form over substance.
The next reason (close in its heels and possibly related) is that they don’t believe that women have the same kind of soul as men. All the sacraments are not for everyone.

No, all the Church needs is lots more offspring. Nothing must change, or Fancy Pants loses his job.

The cardinal is about 70 years out of date. The thoughts started at Vatican II.

So what are you gonna do, Eminence? Impeach the Pope? No “high crimes and misdemeanors” there…

It’s almost as if they’re imitating Jews.

“Heresy”; nothing quite as reassuring as an old comfortable standby…
