The point is blurred in the last panel, but it’s not a good idea to show this to my son, who idolizes Sanders and his ideas. Otherwise there will be verbal virtual patricide.
Bernie is four days older than I am. Sorry, but I don’t want to take a chance on someone who has a higher probability of being incapacitated than a younger person. The same concern goes for Biden. I haven’t committed to any candidate since Inslee dropped out, but I will definitely vote for whomever the final candidate is without a problem. I would (obviously) be happiest if that candidate goes for a strong environmental program.
I know that 110 is the new 90, but BOTH Sanders and Biden should content themselves with being (very) elder statesmen, and leave the field to others. (I mean, Trump is only 73, the same as his IQ before his senility started to kick in, and look at all the problems he causes!)
GoComics just sent me an email that something went wrong with some of the files this morning- reuploading the comic now and should be back up in a few minutes. Definitely not what I meant by “here goes nothing!”
Whenever Bernie — or Warren, or AOC, or ANY Democrat — proposes ANYTHING, Medicare expansion, school lunches, background checks…
Whenever ANY of those things are proposed, there is an immediate demand for all legislative details AND detailed plans to answer “HOW YA GONNA PAY FOR IT!”. Even from other Democratic candidates.
No part of ANY of those plan details, nor the payment proposals will survive the first legislative hearing intact.
.
Meanwhile, totally unneeded increases in the Defense budget, tax cuts for the wealthy, border walls, ‘beautiful’ health care, etc., are met with a collective shrug.
.
Trump Disciples still believe that the invasion of Iraq was totally necessary because Saddam had nucular weapons, and did not cost a thing. They apply the same collective wisdom to the abandonment of the Kurds.
I do have one (im)purity test this cycle: “Is your party GOP?” Other than that, I’m a pragmatic idealist (I think).
I voted Bernie in the last primary. I’ll prefer Warren in the coming one (assuming she doesn’t implode, which she seems unlikely to do). And in the actual election, i’ll vote Dem even if the candidate is Biden. Or any of the others who strike me as being less likely to beat the Maroon. In the last election, knowing that the state where I lived would send all its electors to vote for HRC, I voted Stein, to send that message. And if this time it’s Biden, well, I’ll be tempted again.

He may have some interesting ideas, but he’s never gonna be President…sorry, Bernie.

I love Sen Sanders, but his fans seem to forget there are other people in the country and many of them don’t see it his way.

Too bad FDR was not able to get his 2nd Bill Of Rights passed. But it we had to burn all that money by giving it to the War Department.

The Vermonter I think should be president is Howard Dean. But it doesn’t look like that will happen.

Brian, since GoComics is not displaying any cartoon, at least not for me right now, your comment is very funny in a way you didn’t expect.
