This is the time of year when the mice move into the garage, where they encounter the lure of the peanut butter, followed very shortly by the light at the end of a mousy tunnel.
PS: If I could convince them to use a porto-potty, I might be a little less obsessive about keeping them out. Maybe.
My mom use to tel us how they had the ‘honey dippers’ in each year to clean out the septic tank. I’ve often wondered how one latched on to that professional calling.
Everything was so different back in the days of outhouses. My grandmother left a memoir with a tale of the time her father had built a new outhouse. It was upscale, with one hole for the adults and a smaller one for the children. He was so proud of his handiwork. One night shortly after, he came bursting through the door saying he couldn’t find the calf but he could hear it. His wife said “Well it’s not in here!”. Turns out the calf’s head was stuck in the childrens’ hole in the outhouse. It had to be sawed out by hand. So much for the new design!

If it was a city mouse, there would be a bidet next to the mouse hole.

You might call it a gut feeling.

If it is a true outhouse, you have a hole in the floor as well.

Watching a mouse ‘go’ (as it were) would be most interesting. No it wouldn’t.

The rental fees on the port-a-potty were just too high.

Where’s the itsy-bitsy Sears Catalog? Okay, so Sears doesn’t do catalogs anymore. . .there’s plenty of “designer” catalogs. . .

There are some REALLY great ides for a mouse village. . .uh. . .neighborhood here. It would be as entertaining as Shoe’s Treetops.

“A country Mouse” ? I was waiting to hear guitar strumming sounds, or the sound of stirrups being dragged on the ground!
