He’s not the phony one. He’s perfectly straight forward (in his own way). On the other hand, he’s as far from presidential as it’s possible to be… and still walk on two legs.
To be precise, Article 1 Section 9 Clause 8: “No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”
And, as ANOTHER example of how Agolf Twitler believes that he’s above the law…Donald Trump reportedly told a room of his top aides that he is in charge of the Hatch Act, when warned by his chief of staff that bringing his cabinet members to a campaign rally could violate ethics rules.
The comment, reported in a new Wall Street Journal article, illustrates the degree to which Mr Trump believes his administration does not have to worry about the rule, which was passed a century ago with the intention of warding off political activity by government employees.
The meeting in question occurred in June, a month in which at least two prominent officials in Mr Trump’s administration had been cited for potential violations the law.
Those two were White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, and White House senior adviser Ivanka Trump — the president’s adult daughter — should be punished for violating the law, which bars government employees to advocate for the election or defeat of a partisan political candidate.
“I’m in charge of the Hatch Act,” Mr Trump reportedly snapped at chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, when he was told that bringing his Cabinet to the rally could raise issues.
He disregards any authority and blatantly commits treason against our constitution…..how much longer, how many witnesses will it take to bring him down! We can just hope and pray he turns against MItch……
The Framers were quite clear and adamant regarding foreign influence on the executive. Where are all those Republicans with their pocket Constitutions when we need them?
“You people with this phony Emoluments Clause. . . . It’s a very bad thing what they’re doing. The president of the United States should be allowed to run the country, not have to focus on this kind of crap while, at the same time, doing a great job on Syria and Turkey and all of the other things that we’re doing.” Donald J. Trump
“This kind of crap” is the Constitution of the United States of America. That pretty much tells me all I need to know about Donald J. Trump.
Although I must admit that some think he is “doing a great job on Syria and Turkey.” Putin and Erdoğan are taking well-earned victory laps.
With his latest assertion that the emoluments clause in phony, I can only speculate that Trump wants to be impeached AND removed from office so that he won’t have to face an election loss in ’20 and can play the martyr to his ignorant hardcore base and go back to being a reality TV star.
Sadly, he may get his wish. If Nixon and the Wall St fraudsters who cause the ‘08 recession walked away without jail time, there no reason why The Donald won’t either.
The latest: 2 dozen GOP members, led by @mattgaetz entered the secure hearing room (SCIF) to interrupt witness testimony in the #ImpeachmentInquiry as they demand access, despite not being committee members. They’re complaining it’s a “Soviet-style process”. IF THIS ISNT a blatant OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE I DONT KNOW WHAT IS! If the DEMS did this, there would be an immediate investigation and deflection agenda….OMG! They’re turning barbaric and will do anything to protect that bastard in the WH!

Re: The comment in the last panel.
It’s the other way around. It was becoming a phony people beginning decades ago that led us down this path.
Nixon, Reagan, Bush, Individual 1…You can’t vote for those people unless you’re only focused on the surface veneer.

Yet STILL he has Supporters!!?? – {rhyme}
We’ve caught the perp at long long last;
he’s our constitution’s iconoclast.
With the yuuge opprobrium which Trump has amassed,
we deem him the nadir of worst.
His hex leaves our nation accursed; -
- he’s left us stymied, flummoxed, aghast.
… Coda:
Yet STILL he has many an enthusiast!!
{Down thru their colons their brains have passed.}
