It is easy in all the excitement of the long awaited reveal to lose sight of the middle panel. Hubbs shrinks to a small, shaded figure. He is still convinced, as he was when he forlornly tossed his treasured picture of Ellie from his truck, that his love is in vain. May his shock quickly turn to joy, as the fabulous and forceful Ellie takes charge (as she did with the lame CEO who sold shoddy goods). A landmark day in an exceptional strip! Did I mention that I love it?
