National Edge Day (I don’t know what they mean and I don’t feel like googling it right now.
National Pasta Day. I was considering having chicken noodle soup for dinner tonight because last night, I felt like I was coming down with a cold. Right now, though, I feel fine.

Get To Know Your Customers Day. I have one regular customer who calls me by name and talks to me like a friend, but I don’t even know her name. She has an advantage over me in that way because I wear a name badge.
By the way, we had inventory at our store on Tuesday, which was my day off. I went in to work early on Monday to help get ready for it and to pick up some much-needed money getting time and a half pay. Well, I heard the results of our inventory on Wednesday. They said we beat our “plan” by a good amount (meaning our “shrink”) was less than we planned for. In simpler terms, we had a GREAT inventory. In fact, I was told it was one of our best inventories ever! That should have a positive effect on our quarterly bonus In December. Our fiscal quarter ends on the last day of October. Actually, just before I went home on Monday night, I saw our store manager and I told him, “We’re going to have a GREAT inventory!” He said, “Oh, you think so?” and I said, “Yep! We’re ready!” We really did kick butt on Monday (National Kick Butt Day), doing all the necessary pre-counts on stuff and getting the departments all neat and tidy. I had been told a couple weeks ago that we were going to do the inventory ourselves, with no outside inventory team, but that was misinformation. Our management team did all of the back room counts and we did the usual pre-counts of things that take a long time to count (for example, I counted the big ball cage thing that we have full of trick-or-treat pumpkin pails. Each color (7 colors in all) is a different bar code so it’s a nuisance to count. Our method of inventory was updated and computerized for better accuracy. I’m just tickled pink inventory went so well!
On another note, I got an email from my vet yesterday, wishing Lovebug (my avatar) a Happy Birthday. I don’t know her actual birth date, so I had to make one up. I think I chose a date around the day I got her. I don’t know her age. I only know she’s at least 6 years old, but could be several years older. Lovebug was not doing well at all the day that whisplicka and HarryCK visited me. They saw her and they felt bad for her as she kept falling over when she tried to walk. She was dirty and unkempt because she had not been grooming herself. She just wasn’t not feeling well enough to groom herself. She was also sneezing quite a bit, so I got her on some oral antibiotics for that and that actually seemed to help with the ear infection as well. Usually, the ear drops clear it up in a matter of days, but this bout with the ear infection was not clearing up, even after 2 weeks on the ear drops. But, whisplicka and HarryCK, rest easy for now because she’s feeling much better now and she’s climbing into bed with me at night (she climbs the stairs herself) and tonight, she was RUNNING around in the living room! I don’t know how long this will last. I wish I could feel sure she’s completely on the mend and her ear infection problems are over, but I fear it will come back again and again and again.
I will give you a Mulligan for not knowing what Edge Day is either. Just looked it up. It from the Nineties and about punk rock fans who must have been bitten by a rabid Mormon. No drugs, alcohol, or smoking. Some even commit to a vegan diet. And, yeah, pasta! I still love you even though you are evil carbs.
I got my new clothes dryer today at Best Buy. I looked on the websites of the stores I was going to shop in today and found I liked the deal at Best Buy best. The website even said the next delivery date open was Tuesday the 2nd. Well, that happens to be my next day off from work and the day I was hoping to have it delivered. So it was like fate – the place I was meant to buy my dryer. They offer free delivery and installation. At Menards, there was a minimum delivery charge of $100 and they don’t install them. And the dryer I bought at Best Buy was the same price as the one I saw at Menards. So I am happy with my purchase.

I had spaghetti tonite, so I got the pasta day thingie covered.
Or did I post that yesterday? Or am I having flashbacks?
At my age you never know. Tonite I watched a tv show that was being recorded as new, but I had watched it last week. I’m so confused… LOL

This is Chesney’s fault. He’s brought emotional trauma to the whole comic now.
