Amazing! There really ARE hand-held bug zappers like that. Just looked it up on DuckDuckGo.

I don’t think I want to eat something that was cooked with a bug zapper…all those fried bug guts might get into the food.

What made you think at all?

Ah, well on the way to being another Thomas Edison. . .“I haven’t failed 10,000 times. I’ve learned 10,000 ways that don’t work.” (Or something like that.) Only 9,999 experiments to go. . .

Old experiment from my childhood:

Drive two 3" nails about 5" apart through a 1/2" board. Cut the end of of an ungrounded extension cord, and attach the cut ends, one each, to the nails. Impale a hotdog on the nails, LET GO OF THE HOTDOG, and plug in the cord. Unplug the cord when the hotdog is “done”.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO THIS WITHOUT ADULT SUPERVISION! (And make sure that the board is on a nonconductive surface. )
