Sally sits at her desk in school and raises her hand. She says, "It has been forty-five minutes since I first came into school this morning . . ."<BR><BR> Sally continues, "I find, unfortunately, that I am not any smarter now than when I arrived . . . If it is true that nature abhors a vacuum, I may even be a little dumber!! Now, therefore, I would like to . . ."<BR><BR> Sally says, "Yes, ma'am?"<BR><BR> Sally turns and rests her head on her arms. She says, "Rats, I had a pretty good speech going there for a minute!"<BR><BR>

There’s a story about a Hoover that was lost in the woods. Suddenly, all the woodland creatures began to throw stones at it, the wind blew so hard that the Hoover fell over, and finally, a bolt of lightning disintegrated it. So, yes, it is true that nature abhors a vacuum.

Funny how Sally would alternate between having resistance to learning new things and showing insights like this, which must indicate a natural aptitude for abstract concepts.
