The son is three years older than the daughter . . ."<BR><BR> Franklin continues, "In one year the man will be six times as old as the daughter is now, and in ten years he will be fourteen years older than the combined ages of his children . . . What is the man's present age?"<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty says, "I'm sorry, we are unable to complete your call . . Please check the number and dial again!"<BR><BR>

In case you’re curious: the man is 41, the son is 10, and the daughter is 7.

x=son, y=daughter, z=dad x=y+3 z+1=y*6 z=x+y+24 → x+y+24+1=y*6 → y+3+y+24+1=y*6 → 2*y+28=6*y → 28=4*y → 7=y → x=7+3=10 → z=7+10+24=41

This was adapted into “There’s No Time for Love, Charlie Brown”, but for some reason, Franklin and Peppermint Patty were switched with Linus and Lucy.
