The movie is supposed to make you feel uncomfortable about the violence that takes place. It is supposed to make you feel “wow, I don’t want to live in that world”.
And then maybe, just maybe you even think further than that and say to yourself “what should we do as a society to ensure we don’t live in a world like that”
Remember when all the pundits blamed violence on the Saturday morning cartoons of Heckle and Jeckle, Bugs Bunny, Road Runner and Wile E. Coyete, Mighty Mouse, and the like?
Uh, about that little theater incident with “Batman” playing in Colorado? But how about “The Sands of Iwo Jima”, or “To Hell and Back”- a real image of understated violence with guns in movies. “Private Ryan” showed some reality, and shocked some folks into thinking guns really do screw people up big time.
You, sir, are the dolt. Until graphic, bloody, gratuitously violent movies became the norm… along with the same genre video games… there were almost NO mass killings. In the midwest up into the 80s kids went to school with their shotgun and/or rifle on a rack in the back window of their trucks. Likely not unlocked and with the windows down. I’m a bit older than that and remember walking to school with my 22 rifle, dropping off at the principal’s office and picking it up on the way out. I’m sorry for you if you think a gun ban will change the tiny, twisted minority who commit these horrible crimes into rational caring humans. Scores of millions of us will never commit a crime of any kind with the guns we own.

So what about the psychos BEFORE the movie? Mr. Payne is a dolt.

It’s been more than a week since Payne last attempted to defend Trump:

I may be setting the bar low, but I’m going to call this a hopeful sign.

So, unless you believe that semi-automatic rifles should be completely unregulated, you shouldn’t make a movie where the villain uses a gun?
That makes NO SENSE AT ALL.

I wonder if Payne’s cartoons actually are part of his therapy sessions.

Hollywood makes movies. Republican gun laws make murder easy.

Didn’t care to see it before. Now I’m certain that I won’t.

Let’s ignore all the mass shootings and try to blame fiction since we don’t want to deal with reality.
