“Politics” is originally a process by which two or more opposing sides can reach a common ground; at least according to my professor.
Basically, “politics” is negotiating for win-win solution.
E.g. a conservative and liberal politician goes into a room, “do politics”, and they both get what they want: one gets tax cuts for the Wall Street, the other tax reductions for schools on Main Street.
But some people got greedy for power, want all the power for themselves, and painted “politics” and “politician” as evil people at worst, and corrupt people at worst.
Depending on the politician stuff can really turn out bad for him, or her, especially if they’re crooked. Nothing bad happens to their spouse normally, so she’s good
