    The only thing worse than this person as president would be Mike Penis. He’s smarter, smoother, easier for the “Evangelicals” to love, just as bad for the environment, just as much pro business and anti-everybody-else, worse for women’s rights and non-binary gender rights, and if he succeeded to the post, he could run again twice.

    {Off the ’toon’s topic}

    No Second Term – {a rhyme}

    Soon we’ll have joyously celebrated

    that Trump has been downwardly relegated

    to a stockade’s dungeon’s cell, -

    - where he’ll tweet and he’ll squawk and he’ll yell

    that by far he ‘druther be adulated

    than depreciated and denigrated

    and castigated and defeated checkmated,

    his second term now [ruled out] obviated.

    . . . . . . . . . . .

    There will come a day, and I pray soon, that this crazy insane bastard will be gone. The real corruption and obstructionist are the Treasonist Moscow, greedy Mitch and his merry band of silent twits in the GRAND OLD PARTY. THEY’RE THE ONES TO BLAME FOR ALL OF THIS CONTINUING. HAVE THEY NO SHAME? No souls? The only thing they have are swelling bank accounts off the backs of big business!

    I wonder how many subpoenas it would take to “tp” the White House. Likely that’s sort of what DT will collect and use them for, whilst sitting upon his “throne.”

    I find it interesting that the Nitwit-in-Chief, Moscow Mitch, and Leningrad Lindsey Graham can claim innocence as pure as new fallen snow while flat refusing to provide evidence showing it to a legally entitled entity. Only in the newly empowered Republican authoritarian government…

    I received a jury summons three weeks ago, which included the admonition that failure to report could result in both monetary and/or jail penalties. My question is, since obstruction of justice and contempt of Congress are both crimes, if individuals fail to honor subpoenas, why aren’t they subject to arrest?

    Even doddering old Pat Robertson has stated that this latest stunt from the resident may (but only may; Uncle Chuckles doesn’t want to get too carried away here) cost him “the mandate of Heaven”.

    First off, since there’s no such place as Heaven, there can’t be a mandate of Heaven.

    Second, even if there were, the resident would be the last guy on Earth to get it.

    It looked extremely rocky for the Trump White House that year

    With impeachment breathing down their necks the crooks all shook with fear

    Their bribery, their treason, their high crimes (and their low!)

    They knew when Nancy got the goods then off to jail they’d go

    But then a ray of sunshine: they’d forgotten Pardon Pence

    (Whose honesty is none the best, who’s brain is rather dense)

    Though Jerry Ford played Pardoner, no-one had done it since

    No need to serve a prison term, because of Pardon Pence

    He pardoned both the Donalds, Ivanka, William Barr

    Jared and Stephen Miller (though Rudy was too far!)

    Pence pardoned all those he could find, the traitors and the crooks

    (Though to be fair, Pence met the glare of many dirty looks)

    But sad to say my story ends in ways to make us weep:

    For Pence, that Mighty Pardoner, chose Mother for his veep!

    While everyone is distracted with the newest rounds of scandals and crimes of this Administration, Guess what’s going on behind the scenes … ICE is using the distraction of the impeachment inquiry as camouflage for more evil, corrupt, immoral actions against those who are most vulnerable…700 women have been quietly moved out of detention… nobody knows where they are., Who has them? ICE is making them disappear as if they never existed…as if they were never in custody… so where are they? if they’re in some other detention camp, why is ICE being so covert? Have they been moved into a private detention Camp? …maybe.. it’s a private Comfort detention camp . Maybe they are going to be exploited as free labor or free sex workers for the rich… maybe at Mar a Lardo..maybe some Epstein-like private island? Like the missing children from camps… no one kept records of them … so now those children are ghosts in the system… Will these 700 women become ghosts in the system? So many smoke screens out there …. all of these scandalous distractions in order to keep any attention away from the crimes that are currently happening…the really important betrayals of American values…This Administration is so corrupt…

    This Administration is breaking every law, every treaty, every compact, every agreement we’ve ever made… drumpth is dismantling our constitution.and our bill of rights. This Administration is isolating us from the rest of the world… Welcome to the drumpthlandia version of Gilead.

    The GOP just keeps aiding and abetting all of these crimes and treasons. When does it stop? When is enough enough?

    VOTE THESE CRIMINALS GONE! VOTE BLUE!

    Conservative pundit George Will: If President Trump were to tweet that nine is a prime number, that Minneapolis is in Idaho, and that the sun revolves around the Earth — “Make Earth Great Again!” — would even five Republican senators publicly disagree with even one of the tweets? This matters in assessing the wisdom of beginning an impeachment process against the president. If every senator in the Democratic caucus were to vote to convict Trump in an impeachment trial concerning articles voted by the House, 20 Republicans would have to join them to remove him from office. So, the likelihood that he will not finish his term is vanishingly small. What, then, can be accomplished by the impeachment inquiry that was announced just 406 days before the next presidential election? Three things.First, and not least important, it would augment the public stock of useful information and harmless pleasure to make Senate Republicans stop silently squirming and start taking audible responsibility for the president whom they evidently think they exist to enable. Second, it would affirm Congress’s primacy……Third, articles of impeachment might concern his general stonewalling of congressional inquiries. This obduracy vitiates Congress’s role in the system of checks and balances, one purpose of which is to restrain rampant presidents. An impeachment proceeding could strengthen institutional muscles that Congress has allowed to atrophy…..As this column has hitherto argued (May 31), impeachment can be retrospective, as punishment for offenses committed, and prospective, to prevent probable future injuries to society. The latter is problematic regarding Trump: What is known about his Ukraine involvement reveals nothing — nothing — about his character or modus vivendi that was not already known. This is unfortunate but undeniable: Many millions voted for him because he promised that the loutishness of his campaigning foreshadowed his governing style.

    [continued] This might be a moment in this nation’s life when worse is better: The squalor of the president’s behavior regarding Ukraine, following so much other repulsive behavior, is giving many Americans second thoughts about presidential power, which has waxed as Congress has allowed, often eagerly, its power to wane. Impeachment, however dubious, might at least be a leading indicator of an overdue recalibration of our institutional equilibrium. Nevertheless, the best antidote for a bad election is a better election. The election the nation needs in 400 days would remove the nation’s most recent mistake and inflict instructive carnage — the incumbent mistake likes this noun — on his abjectly obedient party.

    Looking back on his career George Will must be regretting some of his pedantic snideness that often sought to dignify if not justify gradual Republican moral disintegration. I always admired his rhetorical style of writing, practically in the way of ancient Roman orators. But as with William F. Buckley, his gilded words seldom convinced me to his point of view.
