There’s a growing awareness among those engaged in safety design that one can go too far with warning devices and systems — claxon fatigue, as some call it. I’ve noticed lately that I don’t even bother to read product manuals any more, and have concluded law schools need to start educating future corporate attorneys about this phenomenon so as to preserve what little bit of attention consumers still have left.
Most appliances are made off shore (thanks to greedy Corporate America) and the manuals are written by someone for whom English is their second or third language.
