A corporation is a way to separate personal liability from liability incurred by the corp. Unfortunately, it allows the folks who drive the corp to not be responsible for social and other non-(directly) monetary costs. The other thing is that successful (within this context) people seek to be more successful, by making more money, having more responsibility, rising up the ladder… and the way to do that is to grow (their part of) the company. So of course Google will grow.

The answer to all this is government. Regulation is about regulating including the meaning “don’t let it go too fast”. Unfortunately, we don’t have a government in that sense right now: The corps own the regulators. We should fix that.

—) Sometime in the near future, Google will hook up with alien artifact that, since Earth began, has recorded all geological biological events, as well as the formation and thought processes of its indigenous life forms. It will rename itself “Googleplex” and all its information will be stored and updated on super-quantum computers. All data will be accessible, including the thoughts of you who think this a stupid comment …
