Note: less than 5% of gun owners are NRA members. Hmm, the NRA is kinda’ like the electoral college, democracy loses.

Sadly, there was a gun store that ran a back to school special. Once it was pointed out to the owner how heartless it was, he cancelled it.

Remember when “Saturday Night Specials” were the big problem? Those were just small, cheap handguns, with low rate of fire, low accuracy, but ideal for crime.

Now we have “Back to School Specials.” high magazine capacity, high rate of fire rifles and pistols, ideal for killing and wounding many in short order.

First thing to know: This happened (maybe even “happens”). Second thing to know: Unsurprisingly, folks who sell things use any and every possible “occasion” to tout their wares. Including guns. Final thing (here and now). Guns aren’t the problem. Seriously. The problem is high velocity ammo  (and the guns that handle it) combined with large clips.  And, of course, the people who use such things as they were intended, but without the oversight and regulation of the armed services.
