The father of universal health care was German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck who believed that a healthy population was a more productive and militarily strong Nation. But he was not a socialist he was a conservative.

But it would be totally okay if the asteroid had the word “NAZI” on it . That is acceptable to the people like Ramirez.

This is the usual conservative gas-lighting. Keep repeating lies ad nauseum till you get the desired results. Currently, republicans want public to automatically think of any democratic proposal as socialism and extremely bad. Thus, the fear and hysteria they whip up will shutdown the conversation, whether it is on guns, health, climate, economy, deficit, etc. And not having an open constructive discussion will prevent the public from seeing the failures of republicans to actually govern and lead this country.

Last year people borrowed $88 Billion dollars to pay for healthcare and medical bills are the leading cause of bankruptcies. Now, this may sound logical, but if you are Pro Life, shouldn’t you be PRO HEALTH!!!!? https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2019/04/02/americans-borrowed-88-billion-for-health-care-last-year/39287831/

Yes, it killed the weak, the ignorant, the backward, the unfit.

Meanwhile those that united for the greater good survived and flourished.

Ramirez, don’t let Bernies ‘socialist’ label scare you. If it does, go find the Constitution. Reread the part that describes its purpose. The Preamble.

That will either reassure you, or terrify you.

Paying the farmers millions because of the Trump Tariff is an act of socialism—happening now, not a proposal.

How is it that all those other countries manage to have universal health care? I don’t see that Canada (where I live) is eager to change to the US system.

Actually, there is a lot of [accidental] truth in this toon. Medicare for all won’t help us when the asteroid that is climate change wipes us out. (Of course, Ramirez doesn’t believe that either.)

While you’re running from “socialism”, vicious Republican capitalism is destroying everything else.

Because of the socialism asteroid’s impact, the dinosaurs were wiped out, and the way was paved for mammals, apes, and eventually humans to flourish. A surprisingly nuanced take about socialism being a necessary component of humanity from Ramirez.

Mikey, Why you are on you anti Socialist rant, lets Kill Social Security so old people can die in the streets, we can disband the most socialist organization in the Country the US Army. (Provide for the COMMON DEFENSE sounds like socialism) disband all of the Fire departments, (the private sector should make a profit at fighting fires) and while you are at it, destroy the post office, just for kicks.

Put your money where your mouth is, Give us a pledge that you won’t except these “Socialized benefits”

Can Ramirez name ONE genuine, real, scientist, who would agree with this cartoon? Other than the guy with the sharpie at the switch, that is. Of course not, because he just likes tweaking liberals noses. Hint Michael, YOUR cartoons bother no one.

We are the only industrialized nation that doesn’t have universal coverage. The whole world is socialist I guess…. They don’t seem to be doing badly either.

Bernie made it perfectly clear during the debate that he is a Democratic socialist, which is not socialism by any reasonable definition. In fact, Democratic Socialism is exactly as much like socialism as a sea horse is like a horse: Similarity in name, and that’s it!.

PS: The USA is the only modern nation in the whole world that has no form of readily available medical care for all. Arguably that means we are not a first world nation. Which is just fine w/ the GOPists such as Ramirez who think they would like a world in which nobody but the elite have access to much of anything, women and every non-white have no rights and coal is king.

I check this cartoonist’s work out because of the artwork, which is spectacular. The idiocy of the commentary I ignore, although it is a wonder that someone so dedicated to stupidity and tyranny is such a fine illustrator.
