NOAA already been the lackey of climate deniers, manipulating data to prove “their position”. Why should a few lies about Hurricane Dorian in support of an ignorant Cat 5 president surprise anyone?

Pretty sad when organizations that pay for professional advice have to throw all that to the wind and go with trumps gut.

The weather station touts climate change. The comments by climate deniers on their page are quite belligerent.

I was glad when the National Weather Service said Alabama was never threatened by Dorian as trump predicted. Then the NOAA came out and said it could have happened the way trump said. Can’t anyone just say the truth??

What kind of government uses its agencies to support the lies of the president?

When you have acting directors with conflicts of interest coming out of the private sector to take over the agencies that regulate their previous employers, this is what you get…

As shocking as it is that the NOAA head caved to this, @SteveBenson3, the more horrific part of this is that the order was given at all. Making the science subject to government whim (and in this case just to salve #45’s ego, for God’s sake) is right in line with Nazis’ “racial science” and Lysenkoism in the USSR.

It’s of a pattern, too. Other members of the government — especially scientists — have been forced into bad positions or fired and not replaced if they happened to believe in, y’know, facts. The science advisory office of the White House has been EMPTY for almost two years now.

I am pleased that the announcement has been challenged almost immediately, but the person who should be challenged is #45.

Some say that the Alabama tantrum is another brilliant deflection by Trump, but this week there was nothing to deflect. White House staffers and sycophants all say what psychologists already know. Trump is so insecure that he can’t admit being wrong. This, along with many other symptoms, dates back to his childhood and Fred Sr.’s favoring of Fred Jr. Trump is too unbalanced to be president.PhD, Cognition & Behavior

On a positive note, we now know first hand what it was like when the Nazis captured control of Germany.

Dorian did hit Alabama, with catastrophic damage and unimaginable loss of life. Just not in this reality.

And who will pay for this science-hating regime’s lust for self-aggrandizement, self-enrichment at the nation’s expense and lying drive to suppress our American Way ? We will, of course. By all that’s holy and unholy, vote blue, no matter who!!!

On an unrelated topic, it’s nice to get an “atta-boy” from a participant in the investigation of the Watergate scandal.

Long-time friend and fellow cartoonist colleague Chris Britt, who lives and works out of Tucson, posted on my Facebook page today that Jill Wine-Banks, a team leader and prosecuting attorney of Richard Nixon during the Watergate saffair (as well as a contemporary commentator on MSNBC), tweeted out the following comment, accompanied by the cartoon featured in this thread:

“A sad reality from Steve Benson” (might want to go to my Facebook page to see her post if you’re skeptical about the veracity if this). Unbeknownst to me, she had commented on my cartoons in the past, which I appreciate. I admire her determination to pursue corrupt presidents and hope that she will be able to persuade Trump to follow the same route out of the Oval Office that Nixon did.

Here’s some bio information on her:

Give ‘em hell, Jill! I will try to do the same. :-)

I-m wondering how soon it will be that folks in Alabama apply for relief-from-Dorian funds and Trump orders that they be paid.
